I'm a bit ashamed to say that I found the parody had a greater impact on me than the original. Both of them are good, but the later stages of the original seemed to fade away into the background and I couldn't pick out any of the earlier songs aside from Heartaches, so the impact of fleeting recognition was lost on me most of the time. It's probably because I'm not familiar with music of the 1930s.
Even so, I think I could still see myself listening to the first 3 stages of the original every once in a while. I don't really feel unsettled by the albums, but it is an interesting perspective.

I'm not sure if I recognize all the samples since I'm only familiar with the Alpha soundtrack, not the Beta soundtrack. I used to play the Alpha and Beta versions, with release 1.5 being the last version that I put a significant amount of time into.
