What are your expectations on the new upcoming CDProjektRed game: Cyberpunk 2077.?

My biggest fear is that they'll have this fully imagined outside world, but when you get up close 80% of buildings can't be entered. I can accept not being able to barge into people's apartments, but I have the impression that the world will be mostly if not completely explorable

I expect it to sell as good as Red Dead 2 and be a massive influence of modern RPG genre. Negative influence that is. Just like with the Witcher 3, expect CDPR to keep pushing the boundaries of how dumbed down RPG can get

I dont expect it to set a new standard like the Witcher did, but I think it'll be a good game nonetheless.

Its probably gonna be like that desu cause the game seems to have a lot of buildings and i dont think theres been any gta-like game where you could enter most of them

Three days after release a bunch of what went right threads. Then a week after that, there will be a bunch of what went wrong thread when everyone realizes the game isn't very good. Then hopefully mods can save it or something like fallout.

My plan is to hold out for reviews and a large sale before buying, and I'll probably lose interest well before that happens. I had a similar strategy with GTAV and I still don't have it.

every game gets old after the 100th hour, assuming you won't enjoy any part of it up to that point just sets you up to be a miserable fuck

I'm skeptical of any game that was announced 8 years ago, has had multiple delays, and nobody knows exactly what the final game will be like (and no i'm not talking about star citizen)

As you should be. Although the people who've gotten to sample it say it's the real deal, so I'm hopeful.

I'm gonna be a shill here for a second and say, there's no time like the present. Holding out until you know it'll be worth the money, means you miss the opportunity to have your own positive experiences. What you have is not so much a strategy as it is a way to prevent yourself from having fun when the opportunity presents itself. Doesn't have to be Cyberpunk, but if something interests you, don't question it, just give it a go.

It’ll be entertaining, I guess. I might do a few playthroughs. I think the game itself might be the end of WRPGs for a while though. It seems super dumbed down and not much of an RPG at all mechanically, but still labeled as such by marketing.
