I've got a friend who got through most of the game without much issue but was really stuck on the Sam boss fight for whatever reason. Spent like 2 solid hours trying it over and over until he finally got it.

I won't lie but I struggled with this boss and was about to never touch the game again. Until I realised you can parry and managed to beat the whole game. Granted I was using mouse and keyboard.

I slide attack save me until the Monsoon fight, because my dumbass didn't know you could parry.

That boss fuck me up badly, got lucky and ended the game at monsoon battle after over 20 tries. Will continue it someday. I am just hoping there is no codec call to beat this boss bs like in mgs 1 (switch to port 2 for psychomantis ).

MGR threads were insane when the game first came out. huge numbers of people that didn't figure out how to parry or dodge and bitched about it being too hard.

Yeah nah, fuck that. Consider me filtered but that doesn't seem fun to go through multiple floors in a row with none of your items where you start all the way the fuck over. Feel like I wasted money. Hopefully the story DLC is worth it.

You can easily cheese your way trough 90% of Rising but the Sam fight requires you to at least have a basic grasp on the mechanics.

What difficulty was DSP playing on? I swear the boss hits harder and you have to parry to win because he can block all of your attacks.

I got filtered just after blade wolf in the sewer section with the gorilla robots, I cant parry for shit with kb+m

I beat Sam on the first try, but took forever to get to that point. It might be because I kept restarting levels if I didn't do them near perfect, meaning I had the experience of someone who had played the game regularly and beat the game.

If you struggled that much with Monsoon you're going to have a bad time. Armstrong was by far the hardest part of the game.

My noob ass did die near the end of the first level. When I realized I had to replay the whole thing over again I almost quit then and there.
