Should I wait till I have a VR headset to play this or does it matter not?

It's great, needed more enemy variety but aside from that i've got no problems with it.

It was top 3 RE and better than REmake 2.

VR is PS exclusive. If you intend to play it on Xbox or PC then don't wait imo.

Why does the old man sound like someone in their mid to late 20s?

One of the best games in the series and a fun campy return to survival horror. also nice that they managed to find a good balance between having combat that matters and is fun and still having ammo conservation, unlike REmake where you avoid all possible enemies because the combat is shit and there's no ammo anywhere.

Different voice actor for the mocap actor.

It's great, actually scary a lot of the time and I didn't even try VR

I still remember when the game was coming out and everyone was bitching about it calling it an outlast clone or "not RE" or some dumb shit

But I am happy to see three years later pretty much everyone aggress 7 saved the series and is a flawed masterpiece
Can't wait for 8 I think it's gonna fix all my problems with 7

you can only play VR on PS4 sadly but if you do own PS4 VR you got to play it on that. it fucking blew me away when I first played in VR.

People were scared of it being first person I guess, in the end first person makes it more immersive and makes the horror elements stand out more.

It's great until the boat, and then really weak in the mines. Overall a really disappointing third act, but the stuff that's good is fantastic.

Got me back into RE.

I don't get why people shit on that part. after the slog that was the boat. the mines felt like a boost of energy to the game as you finally have all your gear and you can just go to town on the moulded it felt great.

Any other good indie horror games like RE7 with an actualish story and not a self insert as a character?

I fucking love how campy it got in the middle as soon as you kill Jack.

Maybe give Lost in Vivo a spin.
It's not got much of a story but it's a legit great throw back to survival horror games like Silent Hill and it's legit really fucking scary.
Also it's an indie horror game with combat so that's got to be praised too.

I'll take a look. Honestly I only like horror games with a good story in them. Not many games can balance "wow this is fucking retarded (in a good way" and "wow this is fucking awesome".

it's the end of the game. all RE games end with you scrambling to get out alive blasting monsters left and right. and 7 did that just fine.
My only issue is the final boss being shit but the DLC did fix that.

Only the start in the house and the boss fight in the garage was memorable.

Best VR game. Seeing the molded trying to sneak up behind you and be like a foot taller than you with big teeth made me yell in real life.

The endgame in RE games is usually more actiony and that's perfectly fine. Horror elements get less effective in a game that drags on (like Alien Isolation) so it's a smart move

I know it's jancky as hell but I think it's got legit great atmosphere and is very scary.

Plus I honestly think it has a really good story. I wish these games got more praise.
I also loved the sequel. after the bug fixes I think it was great too. don't care what anyone says.

Those game are fucking shit user. sick of these walking sims pretending to be survival horror games.

It was a good game, aside from the total lack of enemy variety. The only "RE fans" who hate it are RE4-6 babies who think it's supposed to be a gay action series.

It’s a 7/10 and one of the better RE games. The ship segment ruined it.

My favourite RE has a really good atmosphere and the molded are very spooky and the shadow puzzles were really neat, sadly only 1 dlc was good and the rest are meh

I am glad Ethan is coming back in Re8 because that means they are expanding on his lore and character so he will be less boring
