There's been no porting of Command mission to steam or current consoles.
Why hasn't capcom released this game again for older fans who want it?

Like the GB games, I think Capcom's not sure where to put it. .
Maybe in an RPG bundle with Legends and Star Force?
I fucking love the giant Boots and Gloves most Mega Man characters have.
To be fair, there's still several games that haven't been properly ported to a current-gen console yet.
>Command Mission
>The Mega Man World/GB games
>MM Xtreme 1 and 2
>Mega Man & Bass
>Power Battle and Power Fighters
My money's on a "treasure collection" where all the oddball MM and MMX games are put in one place.
As to Command Mission itself, ideally they would port the Gamecube version and make it so that you don't need a GBA to get the hidden tokens. Most likely, they would just port the PS2 version and remove the MMX8 demo they had in it.
I played Command Mission back when it came out and loved it but I feel like if I was to play it again nowadays I'd realize it's nothing special, potentially even shitty, but it has MMX slapped on it.
its a bit more polished and solid than most of the side miscelaneous games though; the GB ones are just phoned in ports of the regular games after all (With the exception of 5, which was a rare gem)
plus its got a ton of fan favorite characters, even if its only because of (o)(o)
They could make a side-game collection.
>megaman X collections
Aren't they full of input lag thanks to Frank Cifaldi?
You can emulate it.
Xtreme 2 is a top-4 X game.
Mega Man & Bass is also well regarded.
So what makes a reploid truly maverick? Is it just a general blanket term for a reploid criminal, or is it specifically a psychotic and destructive reploid that primarily targets humans? Are they all explicitly destructive, or can mavericks be more reserved about their actions and pull some Se7en/Saw shit?
the term initially was just a blanket term for reploid criminals.
However, it later began to have the connotation of Virally infected or insane/defective robots due to the sigma virus. Unfortunately, this had the secondary effect of humans smearing the label so that merely criminal reploids were condemned JUST AS MUCH as an insane and irreversibly damaged reploid.
Meaning that if you commit even a minor crime as a reploid, you'd get a death sentence just by being lumped into the same group as the insane and viral crazies.
>Meaning that if you commit even a minor crime as a reploid, you'd get a death sentence just by being lumped into the same group as the insane and viral crazies.
There's no guarantee that you get a death sentence. You can get still get fixed (see: Zero). It's just that the mavericks we see X and Zero face are violent mavericks who need to be fought to be stopped.
>Light tries to make a world where robots and humans live together in peace
>what follows is 5000 years of misery, death, genocide, oppression, planetary ruin, and ultimately a future where humans AND robots are dead, and replaced with the "I can't believe it's not butter" equivalent aka carbons
They never imply it's a straight death sentence because no Maverick has ever gone "Oh alright X you're making sense let's not fight". I think the closest was Colonel or General (I get them mixed up) flipping out when X wanted to blame him for Sky Lagoon.
I love this series but it's basically shonen where robots keep fighting eachother for the most trivial reasons.
On more research, we know that Mavericks aren't immediately killed. Doppler Town was built for reformed Mavericks. And again, Zero also wasn't immediately executed.
Even when people talk about how everything went wrong in the Megaman universe, Wily still can't get any credit.
To be fair nobody besides X and Cain knows who light is. And only Sigma knows Wily but not even by name.
because it sucks.
just emulate it if you want to replay it that badly.
NYAAARRR X
That's because Wily was right.
I don't mean in canon. I mean in meta discussion, like this thread. People who act like it's Dr. Light's fault everything went to hell, and don't give Wily credit for being the one who actually ruined everything.
It makes me think of this stupid bit from the Ruby Spears cartoon: youtu.be
Omega could’ve been using his programming for Zero. That counts for something, right?
lame opinion.
>The guidance system must be bugged. We should probably rework it.
>FUCK YOU DR. LIGHT I WORKED ON THE GUIDANCE SYSTEM I'LL TURN HIM INTO A MURDERER AND SABOTAGE YOUR LIFE'S WORK
What the hell was Wily's problem?
I posted this in an earlier thread, but it still stands. Would a human, or at least, partially human protagonist ever work for a spin off series? A human maverick hunter with most of his body replaced, or a human amputee encased in a suit made of goo similar to yellow devil
>Would a human, or at least, partially human protagonist ever work for a spin off series?
Classic or X? ZX already does that with Cyborgs and tweest aside Legends works off the idea you're a digger who only needs a suit and/or prosthetics in order to fight off reaverbots.
>Forgetting best girl already starred in her own game.
And that's ignoring the ZX and Battle Network crew.
>the GB ones are just phoned in ports of the regular games after all
No, they aren't. The first four reuse robot masters from the NES games, but the level design is all new. The fortresses are all new, too. Only II borrows heavily from the NES stages.
We don't deserve Marino
I've had it on Gamecube for ages but never got around to it until I played the X Legacy Collections this year, I played it afterwards and yeah, everything but the combat isn't very noteworthy. Not a bad time though.
