This kind of supports nice. It takes fan favorite things like the god cards / relinquished and makes them actually playable in a casual setting.
It isn't annoying since most people can easily ignore it because these things never become top tier meta shit besides the single time BEWD won worlds and Red-eyes dark dragun, its just for casual play and thats fine. Also, you're delusional if you think just early YGO gets nostalgia support.

Yugioh's pandering is usually fine. The biggest complaint is that it's usually DM that gets the most juice but we still have other archetypes get a bone thrown at them.
The only time it's a problem is when they push it so hard we get blatantly obvious shit like 2016 BEWD Worlds or Red Eyes Dark Dragoon. No I don't care Red Eyes/DM has been shit for decades, that doesn't excuse that absolute mistake.

It took them years to even start adding Legacy support like they are now and it's not even subtracting from other series. Reminder that Morphtronics were actually up to be expanded upon in the new modern era. They actively look at all archetypes/generations unlike TPC.

I stopped playing yugioh just after Xyz was introduced so I have no clue how pendulum and link summoning works but I always see Needlefiber referenced as a busted card. What makes it so broken?

pendulums were actually pretty fun despite their complexity compared to past new card types, everything got love during that era and the new mechanics actually ended up revitalizing a lot of old decks

links were just a fuckin mess, i got out after those became a thing
