Not even the worst guild in the game
Really took a turn for the worse after they made that orc warrior the new Archmage.
>show up
>2 days later you're made the new archmage
Made by Snow elves.
so what exactly was his motives
the thalmor want to destroy everything and cause a hard reset of the world.. or something. the eye wouldve helped
>be dumb orc
>beat things with hammer
>become arch mage
>I'm a dumb as bricks Orc Warrior
>show up to the place
>I am now the Archmage.
>have to cast spells to join and progress the mages guild
>hurr durr i do it as an orc with no magic
>have to steal items and sneak in the thieves guild
>hurr durr stealing is boring me hit things
>have to fight and prove yourself in combat to join the companions
>lol me do magic not hit things
>have to assassinate people and carry out contracts as dark brotherhood
>lol i just hit things what a shit guild
When did you realize Zig Forums is peak brainlet and just lies? The Skyrim guilds were actually good.
What even was this questline, like I get that you want to have a big quest for the player to undertake, but you set up this premise that here's a location where the player character can learn magic, but you get one lesson on Wards and then it's off to the main quest. I feel like they should've made the whole Eye of Magnus thing be a side story that develops as the player becomes more skilled in Magic.
Glad to know I'm not the only orc warrior chad
ok Todd
>be dum orc
>become archmage
>empty the archmage room from all its ingredients to sell em
SHIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTT
>have to cast spells to join and progress the mages guild
they just let you in for being dragonborn
It's not just the guilds, Civil War is a fucking joke, most of the Daedra Quests are boring as shit and basically no different from a Radiant Quest.
It feels like they realized that players would be easily able to tell what was and wasn't a radiant quest and would just ignore the radiant quests otherwise so instead of making the Radiant ones better they just made the actual questlines worse.
>Most of the Thieves Guild is dungeons that you can easily fight through with no consequences
>Dark Brotherhood is the best, but still isn't nearly as good as Oblivion's and is mostly mediocre
>Companions intrust you with going in the inner circle after literally two easy quests for them
>Mage's Guild literally only requires you to cast one novice level spell
It's actually quite impressive how badly Bethesda managed to fuck up literally every Guild, and almost every Quest in the game.
Mostly a repost because I died halfway through the last sentence
Had really good side quests, especially if you add all the cut content.
He says it pretty plainly, power to destroy the world at his fingertips.
The one thing that fixed companions for me is a mod that increases the amount of radiant quests you need to do before they let you into the circle.
See Also as an extension, the Main Quest feels like they only put in effort up until the first Dragon Fight, after that it just completely falls off the face of the earth in terms of potential.
I want big TES game. With big world, good artstyle, atleast good main quest, magic worth a shit, lots of loot because Im loot goblin. Comfy places like Riften and Whiterun. And settelments being bigger than 3 houses and 10 people.
Unironically all coming for tes6
What do they eat?
Bullshit, Todd will make sure that Consoles will gets their ports. You will always have tiny villages from now on.
No magical skills are even required to become archmage, come on, it never feels like you've earned anything you get rewarded with.
mages guild still lets you in if you tell them you're dragonborn. only other time you're required to cast a spell is with the warding lesson at the start, which the teacher teaches you the spell for free, any other quest that require spells, there are convenient magic staves and tomes nearby.
thieves guild still lets you in even if you fuck up the pickpocket/stealing test and every quest after that you don't need stealth and can just kill everyone. same with the dark brotherhood.
the only time you're needed to melee attack/block in the companions is in the entrance test where they ask you to swing a few times. all the quest after that you can just magic or stealth.
The thieves guild explicitly tells you that you are not dark brotherhood and they don't kill people, but one quest later, no it's okay, kill guys if they get in your way, it's no big deal.
And the mages guild doesn't require any spells, the entrance can be passed with a speech check, the sarthall coffin can be passed with a shout.
Horker Meat, Snowberries, probably conjure other stuff.
That's a mod and you still need to do boring, same feeling, uninteresting radiant quests. You're putting a band-aid on a large wound.
Consoles unironically have more ram and better ssd than an average gaming pc right now, that isn't an excuse.
Also Todd had an interview recently where he said that they were focused on increasing the world size and specifically cities.
I honestly didn't feel like it desu, it felt completely natural to me that it was a chain of boring quests which then turns interesting when you find out that they are werewolves.
But yes vanilla quest has really bad pacing even though I like Kodlack.
>archmage of the mages' college
>15 in every magic skill
>harbinger of the companions
>15 in every combat skill
>master of the thieves' guild
>15 in every stealth skill and illusion/alchemy
>listener of the dark brotherhood
>15 in every combat/stealth skill and illusion/alchemy
>>>>>>Skyrim guilds were actually good
>fail the literal entrance test for Thieves Guild
>"I still think you have what it takes"
>lel what
Fucking hell, there isn't even a replacement quest.
Turns out it's actually easier and faster to fail the quest on purpose
And you can pass the ward test with spellbreaker, or by just killing one of the students.
can't you do the ward spell by holding the magic dwarven shield? spellbreaker?
Yes, but realistically speaking I doubt that the guild would expect you to have one of the legendary artifacts of Nirn
I mean Ymfah does it, but he's actively trying to not use any spells.
But if you don't have any specific reason to not use magic, any character build from archer to Grug warrior can cast a ward for at least 30 seconds or something.
Yeah iirc Ymfah proved you could do Mage's Guild either with only one spell or zero spells, it's been a while since I watched the video though so I don't entirely remember.
