I know Skyrim gets a lot of shit but even the original un-modded console version was magical for me. Up to that point I hadn't played barely any games since the PS2. I didn't really know what video games had become because I stopped paying attention to the industry. Then I dove in to Skyrim once I bought a 360 and it came with the console. I had never played a game like that before and it blew my mind.
Sorry for blogposting but this is the first thread I saw and I'm going to bed and thinking of Whiterun gave me that warm nostalgia feeling.

Good game, very strong aesthetic direction and beautiful soundtrack, fun to explore and loot.
Dated ai, poor animations, spammy combat, and compared to previous TES games the RPG elements and mechanics were stripped bare
Overall I give it 3/5
