Did it filter you Zig Forums?
Did it filter you Zig Forums?
Haha no, I'll definitely beat Runt soon...
Actually the opposite happened, I started out really liking it but then 10 or 15 hours in realized it was boring as fuck. Tried to go back to it a few times but there's just no entertainment to be had beyond the initial "wow! never played a game like this!"
All these words when you could have just said "yes".
All these words when you could have just said "me small brain, easy entertain"
at first i didnt understand that stamina = health
i ended up with 90 hours on it and completionist
Probably the most immersive RPG I ever have played. The things that filter people just make me like it more.
unique save system really incentives the player to use the alchemy system which brings other benefits
combat does not hold your hand and outside some cheese techniques learning new attacks actually feels like you are training rather then just unlocking new moves
no major fast travel system allows you to enjoy all the beautiful countryside and forces you to think about where you need to go and how to spend your time.
Beat it up to DLC then I quit.
Fighting more than 1 person (after killing the rest with arrows) was a pain. I understand it should be like in real life, but damn it was rough.
Says the guy with ADD.
the shitty optimization filtered me, yes
I had fun with some of the fights. When I got to Band of Bastards, I made a save and then fought everyone in the Bastards camp over and over. It was pretty hard to beat them all because they're well equipped and have high stats.
It would be more realistic if you could wildly slash when fighting more than one person. Have it be far less effective, but at least give you the ability to keep them at bay.
Did you discover that archery+max armor was the way to beat mobs? It's kind of silly, but fun to beat ten guys by kiting and shooting them in the face one by one.
>Zig Forums wants a good first person medieval rpg
>hates skyrim because the combat is shit
>hates Kingdom Come because the combat is too hard
That's not realistic unless you are imagining it would have some kind of deterrent effect on enemies. IMO the way to make the system work for fighting more than one person is to have a way to not lock on to just one person. You should be able to more swiftly switch targets.
As soon as I got to free roam, I beat almost all side shit, leveled up to 20, got shitton of cash money, best gear and fucked around a bit, then did that main quest to sneak into the camp and kill the big bad guy and realized that I might've overleveled a bit. Soloed the entire camp when I was supposed to "sneak" and then oneshot the boss.
Good times
I did... it was a bit embarrassing. I still wanted to play around with axes, hammers, and swords though. A bit sad that they make swords the only fun option. I love blunt weapons.
Nah I had an absolute blast once I got the hang of combat. Its actually pretty fucking easy if you just perfect block on the prompts and then riposte. Playing on hardcore mode is a bit more of a challenge but it was still fun once you've learned to time your blocks properly.
Just smash up that big bald head of his
I got detected when scouting the camp as well. I remember that I got into some kind of pit that the guards had to climb into and I killed 5 of them with a sword as they were trying to get to me. Then I pulled out a bow and shot the rest.
It is very realistic for a person with minimal training to slash wildly when facing multiple opponents. It's exactly how many people react in big brawls if someone pulls a knife. The cunt will start slashing wildly and everyone rapidly pulls off out of reach.
Its not that the combat was too hard I guess. I miss wrote my comment. The jank about switching targets annoyed me a lot. I guess it was hard. I want to feel powerful in my video games. I want more of a mix of IDK the Witcher and this game more than Skyrim combat. I want to have more 'real' combat with 2-3 people that feels engaging but not just PRESS X TO SMASH.
I played around with all of them in the tournament fights. It helped me settle on long swords. Long swords that have good stab damage, to be specific. The extra range was nice in multi fights, plus it had some easy combo moves and it didn't require I use a shield, although I still could. That last part was important because using a torch will always unequip your shield for some reason.
it made me realize that I don't enjoy rpgs, especially ones that force you into playing a pre defined character
Yeah but with a sword, what actually happens is your sword sticks in the first person you swing into and then you get stabbed by 2 other people.
To be fair, as much as I loved it the target switching thing was actually atrocious. Combat could get a bit screwey on uneven ground as well. But a 1v1 duel on a flat surface could be fucking sublime.
Normally I hate such games, but for some reason this one really clicked with me.
Yeah same. The difficulty curve was fucked. Combat was impressively hard and fun at first, but missions quickly had you fighting multiple enemies, which was fucked. Then you play a little more and get some gear and suddenly you're a god. And every peasant you meat chants your name when you enter town even though you've barely done anything. I was enjoying the feeling of being a nobody in the early game, they ditched that way too fast.
Game should've given you a few more missions with one-on-one fights early on to establish your basic skills, then piled on harder midgame to counteract your gear gains.
So it did filter you
You are now remembering the weapons grade autism that was the potion brewing system.
>Henry comes to see us!
they all handle the same, only real different melee weapon is polearms and they make every melee encounter a joke
No but I accidentally told a doctor guy the wrong thing so I won't be able to cure a town's disease so I uninstalled the game. Might DL again later.
One of my favorite parts of the game and if you grind it you really get some serious benefits. Roleplayed as a traveling snake oil salesman.
God, I don't know how long I went before I started using nighteye, but it was too long. It made night time completely different.
And the paralyse potion. That shit was so useful with arrows.
At first I was fucking furious of how tedious, slow and unappealing the process was. Then I did it some more and got the hang of it.
Then I couldn't play without it. Such a great mechanic and I honestly wish more games had this much detail in the side crafting activities
Also how is the performance\optimization\patches\new content these days compared to release? I played it on release and enjoyed thoroughly despite the jank and terrible horrible abysmal performance, cracshes and save-breaking bugs. Now I think of revisiting it with the DLCs, how much have changed since?
