I'm pretty excited bros, and yes I played and loved the original and still think this looks good.
Demons Souls hype thread
No Ray Tracing on your PS3 remake that's also on PS4 that's your flagship exclusive.
as a pc gamer, i'm pretty jelly ngl, have fun PS bros!
No user, this board already decided that it's a bad game and you don't get to discuss it here
Maybe try again when/if it gets a pc port and pcfags allow discussion
This but unironically.
You're jealous of Not-Dark Souls?
as a pc gamer I allow discussion
it looks pretty sweet I never played it
Yes! i love dark souls and sekiro
Game looks great. Ignore the jelly haters have fun bro
Skyrim.. home.
That's cool. The ending really sucked though, I wonder if they'll add anything.
i aint paying $90 for this, CAPEESH?
witcher 3 before release looked better
Well Witcher 3 was downgraded. DeSR however actually looks like that.
Please, Demon's Souls Remake is the only next gen game that looks next gen
The only thing they're selling is graphics. The normies win again.
Wait until TW3's remaster.
Not worth getting a PS5 for a port that people who never played demon souls may enjoy
>cartoon shit
Doubt.
>Demon's Souls
>Cartoon shit
what?
the game uses a cartoony style to halo and hide its graphical flaws (think of bugsnax).
Why is there no selectable gender in the character creator? Are the new devs transphobic? Why would they also put in toxic phrases like "body type" in it? That's body shaming.
There is nothing remotely cartoony about Demon's Souls artistic style. What a bizarre thing to say.
Something about that pillar endlessly triggers me. More than any enemy design, it symbolizes everything wrong with Bluepoint.
In the original, it feels authentic and successfully evokes medieval craft, every part of it feels like it's the result of a masterful sculpture artist carving the same stone block for hundreds of hours to shape something cohesive. Despite being less detailed, less colorful, it's far more beautiful, evocative and subtle. There's harmony and emotion to the design, you can look at it and feel a sense of melancholy. The place feels lived in, like it has history.
In the remake, it's just a video games texture. There's zero thought put into the credibility of how it could have been achieved within the world it inhabits. It doesn't resemble any historical architecture or sculpture style, it screams 2020 modern digital work, like a CGI cartoon. It's like when you're in a theme park and visiting the castle section, and realize the walls are made out to look like stone but are actually made out of plastic, the illusion only works when you look at it passively from afar. And artistically speaking, it's utterly flat, fails to convey anything. Simply look at how the wings are designed for example. It's like something straight out of an edgy tattoo parlor instead of an European statue. So vulgarly American, devoid of any elegance or subtlety.
>dude it's just a pillar!!!
No! It represents the creative bankrupty of Bluepoint, a Texan studio that has only ever made botched ports, ruining the visions of actually talented teams while never achieving anything original by itself, simply for a quick paycheck. The equivalent of letting a proofreader re-write a literary masterpiece.
If you are paying for this game, you are not paying for the real Demon's Souls experience. The original experience was prepared by a gourmet chef with fresh, home grown ingredients. What you're paying for is in fact the McDonald's version of it. It is Doritos. It is Mountain Dew.
It looks like shit, pic related
If you know anything about the lore of Demons Souls you'd know they're supposed to be Frankenstein esc experimental creatures.
Name ONE realistic thing about the visuals in the remake.
The original game is outright much more cartoony in its graphics but employs a darker contrast and realistic colour scheme than what we are seeing in the remake.
I am not one of the 'soul/soulless' crowd if you were wondering.
>muh lore
It's not confirmed, that's entirely speculation based off the archstone tooltip.
Yeah and that was conveyed better in the original, and it doesn't look retarded
>they're supposed to be
This, Miyazaki just confirmed on Twitter a Texan team of blue haired trannies only known for third rate botched ports understood his vision better than himself and he's very grateful they finally fixed it. Haters BTFO.
Pretty sure it's been confirmed by now
>Name ONE realistic thing about the visuals in the remake.
Here's a thousand
I don't even know what ray tracing is and all the comparisons I've seen between ray tracing on and off haven't made it any clearer, so it can't be that essential
it's useless.
