It's better than san andreas

GTA 5 redpilled me on the fact that sheer map size means very little. San Andreas pretty much feels like it's as big as 5 despite being less than half the size.
R* was too confident with 5's map size, thinking they wouldn't need to use the tricks SA does to create an illusion of scale.
4 is pretty immaculate. Actual size and the sense of scale are both good.

5 was only good in first impressions. the opening bank heist, followed by the drive through LS were incredible, but the game just falls apart as it goes on. 4 is definitely better in hindsight. SA is obviously ancient and technologically inferior, but even it has many elements 5 would've benefited from.

san andreas doesnt work when you dont have fog blocking the rest of the map 50 ft out, look at the mods that get rid of it, you can see las vegas from the roofs of the grove st cul de sac
