I know you don't care but there's apparently a PC copy of Metal Gear 1. They extracted it from MGS4 and apparently it was created at that time. MG1 is extremely old though.

I still don't think I can run it man, again my laptop could barely run HL2 for 10 minutes. I would have to stop and let it cool down otherwise it would shut off from overheating. I don't know why I couldn't run TF2 since HL2 looks a million times better, it must have been super optimized.

Max dies with his wife, everything after that is just revenge and no amount of that will ever bring his wife back. Max and Mona are both on that kind of downward spiral. His quest for revenge and time with Mona are just trying to fill the hole left by his wife's murder. There is no happy ending for Max possible.
I am not a big analysis guy but the whole vibe of noir is straddling two worlds, an undercover cop has to balance criminality and the law. Max is frequently stuck between two extremes and has to find balance in the middle. He straddles denial and acceptance mostly and the culmination of 2 is him finally accepting what he has done and what wont come back.

I really dont think Max ever "falls in love" with Mona. Its part of his grief and also the fact that they are falling in the same direction, it was part of his straddling of denial and acceptance to what happened to his family.

I agree about the story in MP3 but I would not suggest that the ending of 2 suggests that max "gets better". He accepts his wife's death but I can totally understand him ending up like he does in 3. From MP1 to 2 he becomes a drunk lonely pain killer addict that calls sex lines for company. Just accepting your wife's death will not fix those other ills.

I thought Max Payne 3 sucked because they got rid of slowmo but then I found the button for that like an hour from the end and it got way better

After bg play planescape or icewind dale. Planescape goes hard on the characters and party development but icewind dale is the isometric tabletop game I've played. Neverwinter nights is decent too.
