It's better than ultimate

Ultimate is better as more than a comp game, no question. I like them both casually and competitively, though. Both communities suck dick though and for some reason just don't get along.

I legitimately gave the game a honest year of play, even found a main for once which I don't normally have since Brawl, but I couldn't do it. I know Sakurai is getting old but the "buffer" is nothing more than a glorified input delay for people with slow or bad hands. It royally pisses me off because it just ruins how the game feels for me. There's no "getting used to it".

That autoshorthop/auto aerial shit pisses me off too, I cant undo 20 years of finger memory with other smash games, regardless of ultimate. I really cant fucking wait for Sakurai to retire. Ultimate is so near being a good game, the roster is amazing, but thats literally its only redeeming quality when the controls themselves are marred. The stupid mechanics decisions just make me question all his developmental ideas.

Melee is a better casual game too, ultimate has too many instant kill items that make every item drop a grab it or die situation. I know you can choose what items are on or off but the more menus you need to sort through before playing the worse be it is casually

There is never a situation in melee where staying in landing lag.
No matter how the timing can be influenced, the answer is still that you should have l-canceled.
l-canceling is arbitrary in it's current state.

Yes, it's an input that you should more or less always do, but can be influenced by whiffing an aerial on shield, which means you'll get punished. Not even top players are 100% consistent with landing l-cancels in all situations because the timing is never the same.

Your logic that "hurrr it's something you should always do" is retarded. You should always parry in Dark Souls if you have the opportunity. That doesn't mean you're going to hit it every single time because it's not a consistent timing.

He's not though. High level Mewtwo in Melee can do way more than he can in Ultimate. He is the most slept on "low tier" according to Leffen, who has bodied people PGR ranked within the top 50 with him. I don't think Ulti Mewtwo has any results yet.

I haven't even played Ultimate in over a year because it just frustrates the hell out of me every time I do.
