I always felt bad for the guy that made this map, thousands of people ripped his map and made horrible edited versions of it, all of them by people who have never used hammer before

pretty much. all most of them did was make everything bigger to accommodate for people who make bases.

this is why i switched to HL2RP, even though it's mostly retarded as fuck atleast you can live next to someone without them throwing a grenade through your window

I remember how I somehow ended up becoming an moderator on the server I used to play on
It was fucking terrible, because every single day this group of like 8 children who were all friends would hop in the server and do some bullshit which would always drive all the other regulars away while they were playing, and I could never properly 'ban' them because they technically never broke any rules and were just asshats who abused the hell out of the fact that they could and essentially easily take over the server due to them outnumbering every other regular who were at the most 2 friends co-ordinating together.

Like one time they basically decided to 'take over' the police station as gangs and because the server had a votekick system for roles/jobs they would just vote to rolekick any cop who tried to fight back and I was not allowed to do anything other than give the cops their role back because getting votekicked from your job gave players something like a 7 day 'timeout' on being able to use any similar roles

I did get quite a few perks in the server, like being able to ignore the usual limits and use a job even though the max amount of players was already as it, which was almost necessary because that group of 8 children would often eat up the 3 Arms dealer jobs and only give weapons to their friends which usually outnumbered the police and any other group which would try to oppose them

i used to be a mod / admin for a few dark rp servers as well. you quickly realise the entire thing is a shitty bureaucracy where the owner has kids do the work for him while he rakes in the cash from selling ranks.

I even heard of one guy who made thousands off DarkRP and then blew it all on drugs / hookers, and i don't doubt it
