Introduces the concept of lootboxes to western gaming
not really considering if you are going to blantanly disregard the open eco for the game.
*as purely cosmetic items
sports games brought pay to win into play in the west more than valve
>*as purely cosmetic items
>sports games brought pay to win into play in the west more than valve
>Tf2
>Not pay 2 win
wtf
TF2 isn't P2W, the closest it ever got was with the Polycount item sets
lootboxes are okay until they contain cosmetic items that won't help you get better in the game.
To this day I'm still surprised people spend so much money to gamble on cosmetic items in a video game
>having to buy specific $7 hats for 25hp buff, movement speed, HEADSHOT IMMUNITY and silent decloak
if tf2 didnt immediately go free to play the year after this shit would've killed it outright
Tf2 is p2w because the game has unlockable weapons that you don't get without grinding/paying unlike a game like csgo where there is no gameplay difference between a brand new free account and a global's account. That said the p2w isn't that bad because for less than $5 you can get all the weapons you'd ever want.
Nah, people at the time didn't care. Apparently it's okay when Valve does it.
>Not realising stock weapons are almost always better than unlocks/drops
Get good scrub.
TF2 is mostly skill based. Only weapon I genuinely dislike is the dead ringer.
Fuck it, phlog can go somewhere too
And its still the most fair, you have what you get from the boxes, you can sell or keep them as you please.
I mean, not really. Playing the game gives you random weapons and you can just as easily use a website or trade with other players to exchange a weapon you don't want or already have for something new. Besides, stock is superior in 99% of cases.
Well for me the worst offender was TF2 going free to play and getting just an awful awful hat.
Also the removal of the initial system of getting the items for achievements.
>Purely cosmetic
>Craftable items
>Allows trade
Not nearly as bad as the norm today.
>tomislav
>ubersaw
>crossbow
>jag
>scorch shot/detonator
>iron bomber
>jarate
Trade your random weapons for all of those and you are set for life. Anything else is profit.
>iron bomber
only good because it's bugged and will only make you worse at demo in the long run
Yeah, I listed it because it is currently a direct upgrade.
that was fifa like 3 years before TF2
>crossbow
>healing at infinite range
Direct upgrade.
>misses fifty times because he isn't a sniper / healing target won't stay still
Just git gud at projectiles and just use it when you can't reach the player in time as you have the chance to save him.
The needle guns are shit. Throwing a dart in the middle of a fight while you are away can shift the odds in your team's favor if you hit.
use it as close range burst heal (keep in mind it reloads while inactive) at progressively longer ranges. Even with no skill it can save other teammates next to you while you are pocketing a heavy or something
I unironically want a Engineer themed Credit card
Tomi is weak
Nat is stronger than vanilla
Brass sucks.
Tomi wins in all situations except close quarters heavy vs heavy
Can't you get a custom image printed on a credit / debit card?
>Nat is stronger than vanilla
It literally has a damage penalty.
Heavy rarely fights other heavies, that metric is a moot point
Nat freezes invisible spies in place.
Exactly, that's why tomi wins every single time. It has better accuracy, which translates to more damage on almost all situations, not only heavy vs heavy, it's just that stock wins on close quarters hvh.
You can find TTK comparison videos on yt
Ok
why isnt sandvich and kritz on this list
Forgot about those, not my mains.
Sandvich is usually the best. Kritz can be skipped until you get it randomly unless you want to comp, as normal uber is usually better
