Most successful console since the Wii

>Most successful console since the Wii
>Entire back catalog of old IPs that haven't gotten a second chance in years
>Just make Mario/Zelda/Pokemon over and over again
Why?

because they sell better than the IPs that haven't gotten a second chance

It's fucking boring though. I beat all of the Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon games. I want something different.

So Splatoon, ARMS and Ring Fit doesn't exist all of a sudden? all of these are new IPs for this gen and are financial successes, hell Ring Fit sold even more than FF7R

Splatoon 2 is basically a port. ARMS is a flop and we won't see a second game. Ring Fit is niche and it has been shown that despite selling a lot exercise games don't have legs, I doubt we'll see a sequel from it.

Don't expect a come back of these old titles until late in its life cycle

>Splatoon 2 is basically a port.
So you haven't played it

>ARMS is a flop
it sold around 2.5 million units as of dec 2019, its as much a flop as Bloodborne is.

The Switch has the most limited library.
If you're complaining about lack of games, go buy another console. Or even better, PC.

2.5 million on the Switch, especially as a Nintendo produced title, is a flop.

Bloodborne and all games below 2.5M copies are time flops.
Below 1 million is an actual flop
Below 500K is a mega flop

Not really, Nintendo are pretty effective when it comes to cost of development, hell if MUA3 and Astral Chain are confirmed financial successes despite only breaking 1.1 million sales then ARMS is safe as fuck with 2.5 million.

Last flagship Mario game on Switch: 97 on Metacritic

Last flagship Zelda game on Switch: 97 on Metacritic

Uh... yeah... please stop making amazing games Nintendo.

Fair, but consider the critical reception and lack of hype, I don't think Nintendo would be super eager to make a sequel.

And instead of using the money they made from those amazing games to make more they just...don't.

Let's ignore Splatoon
And Ring Fit
And Astral Chain
And Donkey Kong
And Animal Crossing
And Fire Emblem
And Xenoblade
And....

Nope, just Mario and Zelda

>Let's ignore Splatoon
Expanded port at best
>And Ring Fit
Meme game
>And Astral Chain
Overhyped
>And Donkey Kong
Port
>And Animal Crossing
Inferior to every other one
>And Fire Emblem
Cancer
>And Xenoblade
Port
>And....
>Nope, just Mario and Zelda
Wow, so amazing! I'm so glad Nintendo never goes back into its catalog and gives us a new F-Zero or Advance Wars or Kid Icarus or Golden Sun or a Wario game or a good Chibi-Robo. I can't wait for Switch 2 when I get to play sequels of the same franchises that have been sold to me for decades with minor variations.

>why aren't Nintendo churning out 97-rated genre-defining masterpieces every month like everyone else?!

LOL cope, those games are all fantastic. Keep crying.

>Implying
Nintendo turned out two of those in 2017 and has been coasting for an entire generation afterwards. They have basically done nothing but port old Wii U games even as they make as much if not more money than they did during the Wii era. So many development studios have died from lack of support because Nintendo only gives a fuck about selling BoTW and Mario Kart 8 for years rather than give support.

>Nintendo only gives a fuck about selling BoTW and Mario Kart 8 for years

LOL Nintendo don't need to do anything, those amazing games will sell themselves.

>WTF why do they make games people want???

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity just scored 36/40 in Famitsu.

Looks like the Switch has YET ANOTHER superb exclusive.

b-but it's just a Mosu?? and the fps??

I got so addicted to Hyrule Warriors, that I played the 3DS, Wii-U, and Switch version. I put an embarrassing amount of hours into that game. I can't wait for it to leak.

>tfw hacked Switch/PC master race
I get the best of both worlds, and don't have to pay for games. I wouldn't have bought a Switch if it wasn't a piracy machine.

Same. The original Hyrule Warriors was a great timesink. Looking forward to this BotW Prequel.

I will remind you that many old series saw entries on the Wii and DS, the actual most successful systems of all time for Nintendo.
Those old series rarely saw much success. the reason is that people like what they like.
Punch Out sold 1.27 million on Wii and got thrown into the Select bucket.
Wario Land Shake it sold under its own goals for 350k in the US.
The thing you need to understand is some series and IPs will NEVER be popular.
Hell, if they didn't add the dating mechanic into Fire Emblem Awakening, do you think that series would be popular?
People don't like Strategy games or RPGs but they don't buy Fire Emblem as a SRPG, they buy it as a dating sim. That's why Echoes sold like shit but Birthright sold well. They're about equal in game quality, but Echoes doesn't have waifu mechanics.
If Advance Wars or Golden Sun or F Zero got new games on the Switch, they'd sell 1 million at best. Not because they're bad games, but because they just aren't going to be that popular because of their genres.
People like thing that they're used to, and are unlikely and unwilling to try different thing because they may not like different thing, so best not to take risk
It's not great but it's the way of things. Your best bet is for Nintendo to hand a project in those IPs off to some indie dev who has made clones of that game in the past

Playing DMC3 for free with style switching and without mods is pretty damn great

it's has been 2.5 month since the last time i visited Zig Forums and omg guys you are pathetic and living the same day with the same ideas for ages

The switch needs some new RPG IP, the recent overall new IPs from nintendo were all pretty promising (Astral chain, splatoon 1+2, ring fit, etc...) so i'm confidant they can do it

They used to. Up until the n64 era. Then they got lazy and let rare make most of the games. If were talking about games Nintendo made themselves during the n64 years then they only made a few games for it.
>mario 64
>wave race
>mario kart 64
>yoshi story
>starfox 64
>1080 snowboarding
>oot
>majora
>animal crossing
>dr mario 64
>

everyone's money > your personal opinion

they are running a business

>Famitsu
>Zelda
>36/40
So it's very very bad?

The cope has begun.

They have Pokemon and don't want to compete with it, same reason we won't get a new F-Zero ever.

Nintendo was trying to stop the bleed from third parties and chasing after a fools errand with the DD that entire era though.

okay so you're just here to bait. Glad this has been established early on.

>Dr. Mario 64
>genre defining
Now you're just being silly
