shit

wish it had less story and cutscene bullshit

Fantastic successor to the previous games

Kinda enjoyable, excelent graphics. One of the few retardly demanding games that actually has a good enough art direction to justify it.
The dialogue is really annoying.
I hate how they destroyed the setting from 2033, so i like to think of it as non canon.
The game has it's ups and downs but it's definitely worth playing if you're a fan of the previous games.

ywn get a comfy open world metro 2033 game where you can freely go about in the metro, scavenge supplies, uncover intimidating locations, join factions and immerse yourself in the kino atmosphere

Need Anna gf

still good, but lost the claustrophobic atmosphere of the previous.
also still the benchmark for graphics, way ahead of multi millionaire AAA studios.

I didn't really like it. The "open world" shit felt too random. Not fully developed to be good and cripled the core of the game, or what it used to be. I gott bored of it and actually never finished it....

could really have done without the open world

i think i'm ok with that ywn
we got stalker for that - metro was always far more oppressive and if I remember the book right, no one freely goes anywhere. gimmie more of that oppressive claustrophobia in pitch black tunnels

Dialogue is the weakest part. Everything else is fantastic. Last Light remains my favorite of the 3 though.

A disappointment. I'm still sad about it to this day due to how much I love the world of Metro.
The only good stuff that remains are the cool guns and their mods, the gunplay and graphics. Nice and interesting story? Out. Mysterious metro where weird stuff happens? Nope. Cool factions? Nah. Atmosphere? Mostly gone.
The game should've just taken place during the events of Metro 2035, not after. Fuck man, it hurts to know that this is the last Metro game we'll get, what a fucking dumb way to end the series.

Good game. The best parts are when your alone exploring the world . The worst parts are when your stuck following someone. The overdramatic "making just in time" shit is really annoying when they throw it at you constantly.

>that spoiler

Enjoyed some of the settings, but most the characters I simply didn't care about. Found sometimes ranger hardcore mode would be too punishing, AI spotting me in complete darkness from an obscure angle whilst not making a sound got quite tiresome.

agree a lot with this

>Spoiler
Last Light has a DLC exactly for that thing.

they need to stop with the on rails COD campaign style games. Not worth 60$ for a 7 hr linear game in 2020. Exodus was a step in the right direction but ultimately failed because it didnt know if it wanted to be a linear game or open world. I say fuck what theyve been doing it was cool for a time but they need to start making STALKER style metro where its truly open and has a 360 design approach to scenarios etc. Again I liked exodus and 2033 last light sucked but still all the autismos that wanna keep it on rails in the metro can fuck off, we had enough of that lets move on. Or do what they did in exodus. Give some moments like the old games.

this. jesus christ I could barely get through the first hour because of this

I LOVE THE OPEN WORLD WOW THIS IS SO COOL IM KILLING THESE GUYS DOING ALL THIS SHIT
WOAH DESERT
WOW TRAIN AND DIALOGUE WOAH MY WIFE
uh but metro never real......................................................................................................................

(WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING WHEN THEY MADE A METRO GAME NOT ABOUT THE FUCKING MOTHERFUCKING METRO LIKE WHAT THE FUCK
"OH THE METRO WAS NEVER REAL"
WHAT
DUDE WHAT
WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT

REMINDS ME OF WHEN THE DARK ONES ARE THE BAD GUYS WHILE ITS STILL A SLAUGHTERFEST AND THE DARK ONES WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE ADVOCATING PEACE BUT MUHALIENS UNKNWON IS SCARY EVIL!!!

One of my favorite games ever. So good. Love it. I played an early patch, so I got a bug where I couldn't use my flashlight, but it made some sections insanely good as I had to use my lighter to fight spiders.

It's a first person shooter. I have not played it and don't know anything else.

Starts strong(Volga), ends strong(Dead City) but the inbetween is mediocre(Taiga and Caspian) or down right shit aka Ark.

I don't know how many people liked the shrimp boss from Last Light, but why the fuck did we get a dogshit bear boss fight?

can we bring >JUST back?

I want a full game and the whole metro, not just one area with obnoxious respawning enemies and arcadey progression mechanics.
I want to visit stations, battle in wars, discover secret locations, buy and sell supplies, avoid bandits, try my luck in the surface, etc.

ALSO THIS IS FOR MY GAMEPLAY BOYS
EVERYTIME YOU WENT INTO AN AREA DESIGNATED TO BE A FIGHT, IT WAS SO OBVIOUS...
OH GO AROUND THIS DANGEROUS WAREHOUSE. DODGE BIG FISH WATER/ENEMY GUYS BUT DONT REALIZE THAT YOU END UP RIGHT AT THE START OF WHERE YOU STARTED -EVERY-FUCKING-TIME-
LIKE OKAY IN DOOM OR WHATEVER YOU KILL A BUNCH OF GUYS (SEE AN OBLIVION DUNGEON...????????????) AND THEN I WALK OUT THE EXIT... WHERE I STARTED THE FIGHT... UH.......................... THIS FEELS MADE BY A PERSON
REALLY, YOU THINK YOU SHITTY FAGGOT FUCKING PUBLISHER RAPED RUSKIES?
FUCK SAKE BRO

very funny, funny man, you got the whole squad laughing

>no one freely goes anywhere
You are partially correct, yeah. Such things could just be implemented into the game though. You'd either move around with a trading caravan or hire someone or a group, etc. Events could happen during those times and the moving from one station to another would actually take time. You could also decide to go alone but that'd be extremely dangerous.
I just want to explore the Metro man. Imagine if wanted to get into a closed off station. You'd go around looking for ways to get in there or talk to people about it (which could possibly get the attention of some bad people, depending on why the station was closed off or maybe because the station is still secretly active somehow). After getting the location you'd get the gear you think you'd need for the expedition, maybe even hire someone to go with you and check the place out. Maybe it'd be some shitty station with very little to scavenge, maybe you'd find some interesting documents that lead you to a secret military station, maybe there's a secret faction there, maybe it's filled to the brim with mutants and you're fucked, maybe radiation, etc.
God damnit man.
That was nice but it got repetitive due to the small area and the core gameplay mechanic it had.
Now that you mention it, yeah, no one really uses it anymore. Weird.

Well, Stalker 2 is coming.

probably the best tech / graphics demo out there if you just bought a 3080/90

RTX on Ultra in that dimly lit apartment at the start blew my mind.

Essentially this (though I liked Ark despite its goofiness). Dead City, in particular, proves 4a haven't lost any of their talent -- it's a shame they spent most of it trying to make the open world meme work with Metro. I wouldn't even mind them trying an open world/STALKER-type game again in the future (Volga was good), but it should be built from the ground up as a new IP.

Pretty much this.
