Yeah, I really liked the musical bits showing up here and there. I thought the title screen ditty and the same one used for inn music and chapter titles and all was just kind of bleh, especially since it takes a while of listening to actually get to the 'signature' part, but hearing it in full blast in the last boss theme was definitely a 'holy shit' moment and one of the things that took the game to GOTY for me, or at least the OST.
Bonus mention to the snippet of Leif's theme in Snakemouth Labs.
