I think they might have given it a shitty design on purpose in order to sell the new and improved Slim version in two or three years.

If they had done only the black part it would've been smaller and it wouldn't have needed the stand.

If the corners were rounded and the same height as the black port, it would actually look pretty slick. It’s not bad now in my opinion, but it looks a bit too much like a futuristic skyscraper.

The PS5 stand is ugly and mandatory. The SeX stand is suitable and optional when horizontal
