>for me its the fact nearly every game has a constantly pursuing nearly unkillable enemy that h arrases you the whole game
That's only really in REmake 2 (Mr. X in the original barely counts), the original RE3 (Nemesis is a set piece in the remake), and a small part of RE7.
>oh and 4 that is basically one huge escort mission
Parts of it. And even then, she gets out of the way for you and you can have her hide in a dumpster or something in several cases when you're fighting.
>a small part of RE7
i have killed him in two separate boss fights and yet just now when i was playing in he comes busting through a door
And he only does it in the house. In fact, he shows up so rarely that I forgot he even lurked around the house until I replied to your initial post.
>for me its the fact nearly every game has a constantly pursuing nearly unkillable enemy that h arrases you the whole game
Is this what zoom zooms really think?
It's so damn obvious that none of you fags have even played a Resident Evil game in that case.
>oh and 4 that is basically one huge escort mission
Only for like 1/4th of the game, tops, and it's one of the most tolerable escorts since you can just ask Ms Ballistics to jam herself into a box and stay out of sight.
so if i am in the basement or the like i dont have to watch out for him?
I mean, once you get out of the front doors, you won't have to worry about him stalking you. No, that's not the end of the game, not even close.
Nemesis is a set piece in the original 3 as well. You can call his spawn 100% every time and there is always a clean exit path.
Really 2make is the only one. And it's my main complaint. The badly handled A/B being the other. I like the game overall though.
It's been a while since I've played the original, but if I recall correctly, Nemesis could pop up in certain places at random. He was never hard to avoid, but there was a bit of randomness there that scared the piss out of kids in 1999.
Fuck off. Stalker enemies are the best.
Literally not a thing before 7 came around.
No, not even OG-Nemmy.
this fuckin series
but it's a good escort mission.
>The badly handled A/B being the other.
Pissed me off to no end. Core game feature just straight up ignored in a remake.
>The badly handled A/B being the other.
Can you elaborate on that, fren? I've only played REmake2 and I'm wondering how's the original.
I feel you. I played Xenoblade several years ago and liked it well enough, but the combat wasn't the most exciting and there wasn't much to actually find in the world. I got Xenoblade 2 shortly after launch and found it atrocious. I stopped at chapter 4 and tried again a year later, making it to chapter 6, but then stopping again out of boredom. I played Xenogears earlier this year, something I've been meaning to do for a long, long time, and the battles weren't great, the dungeons sucked, there was too much talking even for me, and aside from a few parts here and there, the story wasn't very interesting until near the end of disc 1, but it didn't become REALLY interesting until disc 2, and as a game, disc 2 was a total shitshow. I haven't tried Xenosaga since it was new (I remember borrowing it from a friend and stopping after a couple of hours because it was just cutscenes, and that says something as I really liked watching cutscenes back then) or Xenoblade X yet, but I have a feeling the Xeno series just isn't for me.
emulate it?
>for me its the fact nearly every game has a constantly pursuing nearly unkillable enemy that h arrases you the whole game
Mr. X in REmake 2 is only in it for like 45 minutes if you're playing as Claire.
45 minutes too fucking long
He's really not much to worry about on the A game if you know what you're doing. I really hated him my first time playing the game, but when I played a second time, I completed most of the RPD before triggering him, so I only had to deal with him for a very short while. And then when I played the B game and he's triggered early on, I remember why I hated him again. I like the concept, but in practice he just annoys me.
The A and B games were different in the original (even if they did have to repeat some stuff in the B game that you already did in the A game). You could do things like unlock a door in the A game that you could then go through in the B game for extra stuff and whatnot.
The original is pretty much a completely different game that ends up sharing a similar story.
they don't rehash the same campaign twice.
Cool, thanks. Maybe I'll give it a go once I gather up courage.
I'll do you one better with Sourcenext.

They're partnered scenarios, heads and tails of the same coin. Some differences are character based, others scenario based.
A good scenario example would just be the Birkin fights. You come across him, he morphs slightly, you hit him until he fucks off. The other scenario then meets him after that first morph, sees him morph again and hits him until he runs off. Then he encounters the other, morphs, runs off. So in Scenario A you've only seen every other morph and the B sees the ones inbetween those. There's continuity between them as they're inextricably linked and each A/B pairing is slightly different in what happens. The B scenario will also send you around entirely new areas that shows you the other half of a sequence of events.
Each A ends on dog Birkin, each B ends on X who only shows up in B to begin with.
There's so much shit that what we got in the remake is a fucing disaster by comparison.
Just run through it on easy if you really want to know. It's seriously a shit ton of small things that really add up over the course of the game.
>I've only played REmake2 and I'm wondering how's the original.
Vastly superior in almost every possible way. It's not like the REmake1 that's essentially the 1996 game with enhancements and expansions.
>Claire doesn't have a gap between her thighs

Oh there's an English patch now? Cool. I can read Nip just fine, but RE feels so weird in Japanese that I've always avoided the Sourcenext versions.
I mean, I've been posting this shit in every thread I see for nearly 2 years now.

Bless you user
Neat. Never noticed. I don't come to RE threads too often.
if you have not played a classic RE-game before, do start with RE1. It will give you a bit more chill-time to master the controls and the overall gameplay-loop. RE2's legit made for the veteran fans, and legit throws ya in the middle of action.
