If skipping had a negative effect which harmed the player for using it could be alright. Something along the lines of losing gear, experience, or storylines. Maybe have the game based on reputation and have every "skip" lower it, with progress and story being gated by how well-perceived you are.

Like, motherfucker, that's not an accessibility feature. Being able to change colors or give things more obvious indicators for the colorblind is an accessibility feature. Being able to rebind buttons so people missing arms or whatever can use those disabled-person controllers is an accessibility feature. You just wanted to give journalist faggots an easy out so they might not complain when they get filtered by combat, and as a result you now have no obligation to make your shit game actually fun because you can now default to "well if you don't like it just use the skip button lol :^)" and if anyone complains about this you get to call them "ableist" or whatever the fuck.
