I did not care for hollow knight...

I did not care for hollow knight. It's pretty lame and people who have never played symphony of the night or super metroid or metroid 2 or metroid on the nes will act like its the pinnacle of anything

yet people will fall for it anyways

hollow knight is soulless & boring

I've played all of those and I think Hollow knight is better than those games.

>soulless
but you get 11 soul points every time you strike an enemy with the base nail

How many more fucking times are you going to make this thread? Jesus Christ. We know it's you, you don't try very hard to hide it.

You don't even know where you are half the time in hollow knight, without a map it'd be awful trying to get anywhere, none of the power ups and items in this game feel good. its soulless and boring

Good thing there is a map then. Power ups are fine. Movement is a lot of fun in the game.

how is this a real complaint if you have a map the whole time?

I think the problem is you’re just fucking retarded, but we knew that already from the OP

anyone with more than 2 braincells can see that it's the artstyle that sells the game + it's a dark souls/metroidvania wannabe

It fails at fucking everything but people will defend it to death because of the dorky artstyle

its more so of a complaint that all the environments and rooms are so lack of character and identifiable objects. In super metroid you'll see rooms with more character and color than the entire game in hollowknight

filtered

well no wonder you have no sense of direction, you’re literay blind

sneed's sneed & sneed

>only way to get a hollow knight thread is to post obvious bait
damn shame what this place has become

I played and enjoyed both SOTN and Super Metroid long before Hollow Knight, and I loved Hollow Knight.

WHY ARE THERE 3 HK THREADS
FALSEFLAGGING RETARD CHECK THE CATALOG

Hollow knight is an improvement on the metroidvania genre in every way.

t. Beat Super Metroid, Zero Mission, Fusion, and all 3 Primes.

thanks user i needed that image

>Hollow knight is an improvement on the metroidvania genre in every way.
No, but Shinsekai: Into the Depths is

I enjoyed it, but it's not very memorable. The only kino area was City of Tears.
Also after beating the final boss once I couldn't be bothered to explore more and get the best ending, and I usually go for 100% in these games. It's enjoyable, but not a masterpiece like everyone says.

I agree that Hollow Knight gets unwarranted appraisal. I beat it a year ago and still think its a glorified flash game similar to Binding of Isaac where the visuals are too simplistic. Axiom Verge came out around the same time and I found that more entertaining than HK.

My biggest beef with HK is how it does not do the little things such as changing the visuals up when you get an upgrade. Weapon becomes stronger? Same graphic. Stronger armor. Same color cloak. Come on, man.

Ok but how?

it's better than all those games OP

muh grafics

This nigga knows what's up. Axiom Verge is a better game by miles. Bloodstained games look like shit but play leagues better than Hollow Knight.

HK is super stripped down, which I guess appeals to people who prefer simple progression and repetitive combat.

HK's combat has more depth than almost any other metroidvania i've played. Simple != shallow

muh flash animation

I played both of those and Hollow Knight is better. I'm willing to take off my nostalgia goggles when a legitimately great game comes out and breaks new ground. If you disagree, you're probably old and don't even like games anymore.

>repetitive combat.
In a metroidvania? No way

No it doesn't.

only area that has soul is the rainy city... the rest is like a Flash game from 15 years ago
