>actually interesting plot of a conflict between biological life forms and mechanical life forms.
>throws it out the window and turns into another "teenagers kill god" plot.
Nah fuck that.
XC2 had a better finale.

Which one? There are multiple.
Regardless of the choice, you are right anyway.

It's pretty well explained that the god you kill is the very reason for that conflict. What exactly was thrown out the window at Mechonis Core, aside from your own brain?

Egil's motives made so much more sense when Zanza was brought into the picture and even Zanza's motives made some margin of sense.
Malo's' motive was "durr my driver was evil so im evil too raaa kill world"

what story climax? that Nia is a massive cuck?

Aion was shit compared to Zanza. It felt like a generic mech to beat up on.

XC2 spends a great amount of time establishing that Blades have extremely close ties to their Drivers, who in turn influence them. It makes sense that Amalthus, who is almost as big of a misanthrope as Zanza, influences Malos in that manner.

>muh revenge story
>nature vs nurture
You choose

fbbp

Aion was just Yaldabaoth but with less suspense.

fpwp

Zanza >/= Malos Torna >>> Aion

Malos at the end of Torna was Kino. Aion felt...unfinished? The lead up to it was great, but it kinda ended on a wimper as far as boss battles go.

How is the final boss in XCX bros? I don't know the details other than it's some Alien dude in a mech and Elma is some kinda of alien?

I don't know, I'm waiting for Monolith to announce a Switch port of X.

The final chapter of X is the best the game has to offer when it comes to main story. The boss(es) themselves are pretty kino too

>Aion felt...unfinished?

It really lacked a final form or anything resembling it. Fighting Aion felt very unpersonal

It's shit, they should have made zu pharg the final boss

>the big sacrifice gets shot in the foot by bringing the girls back, seemingly as their own entities to boot
Yeah, no. I haven't even played XC yet but you literally cannot do worse than having you cake and eat it too bullshit that takes away the emotional blast.

Here me out, in the end, the sword that kills the bad guy was the friends we made along the way. I know, super original ending

Malos with Aion should have somehow summoned something that represents Amalthus and another that represents Jin that you have to fight, showing that he’s come to terms with who he is and how he’s the one in control now

But Yabbadabbado had no suspense whatsoever.

You can when it doesn't affect the lore negatively.

Not with that shitty main cast and writing it's not.

I want to play this game but apparently before EVERY battle he says "let's show them a thing or three". That alone for 100 hours would drive me insane

>anime characters with feelings and emotions
That's how you know to instantly discard a game as a cinematic experience. At no point should a videogame character EVER talk or have feelings like some fucking reddit visual novel. I'm here to play a game, not watch 20 hours of cutscenes about muh love and friendship.

This is why I hate JRPGs on principle.

Xenoblade 1 technically does the same thing, although there’s no big sacrifice scene. A scene much earlier that was seemingly setting up something went nowhere though.

it made sense with the rules of the world. whether or not the scene should have ended with their core simply flashing and leaving it open to interpretation is debatable though

While you're fighting him he's using his gold mech to pilot a continent-sized mech. You literally have to stop Egil from splitting the Bionis in half during the fight. At worst, waiting out the fight with Aion leads to a few more deaths, because the fucking Conduit/Zohar, which was powering Aion, fucks off into another dimension.

Got 20h into the game and dropped it because it was shit
Spoil me on the climax.

>tfw played both XC and XCX on emulators and had a blast
>look up switch emulation
>its a piece of shit

Honestly forget PS5 and Xbox, my number one gaming wish is for nintendo games to multiplat on PC.

How was this game? I remember that the reveal trailer looked interesting, but I never heard about it after that.

>my number one gaming wish is for nintendo games to multiplat on PC
Then you'll never see your wish come true

You were working for the bad guy all along

Nothing can beat Malos/Aion using Prometheus though (especially when best tank Tora survives with 1 hp)

I fucking hated this game, too different, too weeby, shit story, grind too long

Shadowbringers, but it's a long fucking climb to reach that climax.

More like you were the bad guy's soul jar/meat puppet all along, and your dad's a gigantic asshole.

This The entire climax of the game perfectly reflects all the character's struggles and fears. Whereas XC1 is a very well done "WE MUST SEIZE OUR DESTINIES AGAINST OUR GOD!" type climax, XC2 just twists everything in a wonderful way.

just change it to sub. not only is the voice direction better but they speak significantly less in battle

Was it ever explained why Shulk and co. were walking around space before Zanza?

JRPG magic
Something something the power of the monado

I don't remember where it was explained, but it's apparently a memory of the Sol system as Klaus knew it. At least, whatever Zanza could remember as Klaus.

From what we learn and see in 2, it’s much more likely Alvis’ memory

What was the climax? This?

Attached: mechcore.png (800x450, 651.33K)

This twist was well done, even if the whole "evil half/good half" thing is generic, hearing Shulk's voice brought a smile to my face. If Malos had a similar fight to that of the one in Torna at the end of the base game, it would have been pretty perfect.

FPBP.

Best boi

Yeah, the Torna Malos fight to me was Monolith going "Yeah this is probably how we should have done it".

Literally everything with Fiora in the last few chapters is the exact same shit.
