I actually really like the game

There isn't really anything I see wrong with the game, but it's not P5 Boomer edition. It's still yakuza with a different take on combat that isn't "dump into rush/brawler, now I win"

Yakuza 0 had a lot of elements that could have made for a deep game, but rgg can't be assed to make enemies hard or complex enough for it to matter.

Yeah the way I see it is it's streamlined the combat to something that's easier to get through and makes the getting to the story and side content a lot easier. I never minded the combat in previous games but I didn't really enjoy it either (3 felt like the worst desu)

And so it will be the first entry I buy

0 was going for cheese, I think it hit it right. Kiwami on the other hand was just simply stupid where they could have fixed it but didn't. I rarely used heat moves in the game simply because of how OP I was by dicking around after the funeral. Dumped all into rush with brawler for my left over exp, aside from like 2-3 fights where the game wanted you to play X way there wasn't anything stopping you.

I kinda feel that this is a step in the right direction because there are only so many times I care to fight people as I go look for side quests to do in which I actively start ignoring enemies without consequence. I'd rather have fewer fights that are more engaging than 200x yakuza on my way to go to Champion street.

I like playing as a spergy 40 year old instead of a literal god for once. The fact that you go down to rock bottom and have to scrounge for pitiful amounts of money is so good.

There is some satisfaction in it, but when every time I get to free roam I end up beating up half the population of tokyo; it gets old and loses some of the charm. There is a reason I leave 0 installed just so I can go around whapping people with bats.
