Why does no one want to see more Ethan in RE?
The old cast have been around for years and there stale now. this series benefits from having someone fresh to deal with the horrors. it ain't scary when it's some trained bad ass like most of the old cast
Plus they are going to develop his character more in 8 so why are people so against this?
It's not like Chris or Jill we're that interesting in the first RE as well.
So why is Ethan getting the cold shoulder?

People here don’t want characters they don’t like getting another try, even if it be a chance for them to improve in their eyes. It’s one strike and you’re out. Zig Forums arguably cares the most about first impressions more then to see how someone or something will turn out, after all this time.
I'm more then happy Capcom is giving Ethan another game. I think it's good they are trying new things with new characters.

But in TEW2 they really fleshed him out. gave him personality and real goals. I ended up really caring for him by the end of the second game.
With good writing you can improve any character. and I hope Ethan is gonna get the same treatment.

Ethan has no real face in game but in the files of 7 you can find this face that people assume is the place holder face for Ethan.

they were fun, in part admittedly thanks to cheesy voice acting, and they were basically super cops whereas Ethan is... guy. He doesn't even have a design, he's just a face that technically you don't even actually see while playing
He's a symptom of the current trend of relying on motion capture, none of the good guys in RE7 look like fucking anything because they're just generic faces with the simplest clothing slapped on because it's easier to handle. If RE8 can offer more than by all means, but sofar it just ain't much compared to cartoon shit like "YOU, THE MASTER OF UNLOCKING"
