Electronics are expensive. If I drop 2 grand on a gaming PC, you bet your ass I’ll place that shit on a desk. I’ve always found it really ghetto to place it on the ground, plus I have other office-y things like a 3D printer, bookshelf speakers, a landline phone and router and I sure as shit don’t place that on the ground. I mean at least get a wooden plank or something to elevate it.
Why do you put your PC on the ground?
I don't.
It works just as well on the ground and 3 feet off the ground.
my pc is a real nigga it can survive on the ground
It seems really common. My brothers do it and I think at least 60% of the posters here do it. I never remember my parents placing their 90s beige IBM or Compaq PCs on the ground, and those beasts were larger than any computer today
So what? What's the worse it could happen?
takes an enormous amount of room on the desk. Plus I can stretch my legs on top of it.
If it's on the ground like that in your picture it's no different from being on a table. If it was resting on carpet then that would be a different story.
Too heavy for my desk and it takes up space.
I levitate my pc 6 feet in the air by sheer force of will
whats wrong with it being on the ground? you want to build a pedestal to put your pc in? what are you a fucking american cuck?
I have a full tower PC which barely fits under my desk let alone on top of it.
Those machines werent towers, they were horizontal and people put their screens on top of them because they doubled as good stands.
A lot of the PCs in the 90s weren't towers is the thing. They were those funky horizontal cases to put monitors on top of.
...that’s not how technology works user...
Because putting it on my desk is a waste of space.
my desk has a space for a PC and it feels like a waste to not use it but it barely fits in there and it's probably a nightmare for airflow so i'll probably have to move it eventually
>I’ve always found it really ghetto to place it on the ground
Okay but do you have an actual point? You then proceeded to list a bunch of things that are on tables because you need to access them. Even then you listed routers, which a lot of people also have on the floor.
I built a little plinth out of a few layers of foam board to keep it above the worst of the dust and hair on the carpet. It also helps with any vibrations the case fans cause being heard anywhere else. So mine sits about 12cm off the floor.
I think the most appropriate solution would be to assemble a wooden platform that would raise the PC off the floor, but would still allow it to fit undet the desk.
Makes it easier to disconnect and reconnect cables. For years I used to have my PC on the desk, but every time I wanted to take the cables out they'd fall behind the desk and I'd have to painstakingly push them back up.
Even if they doubled as good stands, their rectangular/square frame was so massive they took up most or a lot of deskspace which explains why so many office tables back then had the keyboard tray
Also, noise. My PC is optimized for silence and I can hardly even hear it under load when it's next to the desk.
If its below your desk wouldnt hot air that fans blow out of the pc linger around and get trapped in the general area because top of your desk is preventing it form leaving and then you have a cycle of fans taking in hot air that it blows out ?
I wish I had a pc
My PC has its own wagon yo.
based wheelchad
>wasting desk space for the tower
>risking toppling it over
>expose it to even dust and shit
And all the other shit you mentioned that you don't place on the ground requires easy, torso-level access. You only need to press a button once on your PC, which is easily reachable by extending your arm, then never worry about it again.
Take comfort in the fact that you a doubles followed by a quad, almost.
won't do you much good there in australia where you live
Shut up nigger
Don’t waste your time on retarded bait next time, user
