It's just bits here and there, i want an actual full campaign about the Vietnam war playing as an average soldier in the middle of big fights the older CODs, not spec ops missions that feel smaller in scale. No MACV crap, no numbers/mind control shit, no russian garbage, just fucking VIETNAM.

Anyway as somebody that agrees that there should be a COD Vietnam game and a Vietnam history enthusiast, they had the right idea of making a cold war game in the first Black Ops instead, because a Vietnam only Call of Duty wouldn't have much content. There is only so much you can do with that setting. They should have tried to be more period accurate though, the anachronisms were pretty egregious and the game would have been better without that shit.

Are there any Vietnam War games where you get to horrifically murder the Americans? That would be fun.

It’s not like the VC whomped the US, it’s just nearly impossible to dislodge an entrenched guerrilla force in their own country, especially when they’re getting logistical support from a rival superpower.
As long as you can shoot at foreigners, it’s all good.

That conflict lasted longer than WW2, i'm pretty damn sure there's enough material for a 5-hour COD campaign.

Sledgehammer was making a Call of Duty Vietnam RPG back in 2013-ish but it was cancelled because Activision wanted something that would make the series feel fresh again, so they made Advanced Warfare with the new movement mechanics.

Because it's CoD.
At least Arma devs are working on Vietnam expansion for Arma 3. Almost definitely getting announced next month.

Yes for real, and yes it's going to have era appropriate gear. Apparently same studio that made the Jets DLC and has some veterans from the Unsung mod which was a Vietnam mod for Operation Flashpoint, Arma 1 and Arma 2 (has Arma 3 port as well but it's just a port).

Based on that plebbit post it seems it's going to be large scale unlike Jets and they were hiring for artists and campaign programmers so it looks like they've got SP campaign coming with it too
