RetroArch on Steam

>cloud saves
>emulates Wii, NGC, N64, SNES, PS1, and countless other systems pretty much flawlessly
>online multiplayer on steam through remote play together
>it is now open for you to play test it
>effortless configuration

Tell me, right now, why is this NOT being talked about?

I already have retroarch set up on my Wii U

Maybe because the fact that it0s on steam is irrelevant. I use it for almost 5 years now.

>why is this NOT being talked about?
Because RetroArch has been around forever, remote play doesn't mean much since you can already do that with other solutions like Parsec.

Does it work with mouse and keyboard like with some sort of Lilypad plugin?

could see it being the same case as my vita, where i have it setup to be exclusively an emulation machine

>online multiplayer on steam through remote play together
Pretty neat.

Remote play together is pretty nice if your connection and locations support it.

ESL post

no idea

but only one person will be able to play with a keyboard and mouse if you're on remote play together, all others will need to use controllers/emulate controllers

Most people who are into emulation have already used it for years.

my only problem with retroarch is that the current dolphin core is so fucking outdated its absolutely impossible to play Paper Mario TTYD without it crashing every 5 seconds

I have little use for it, I have my collection of emulators setup over the years. I also dislike all interface flavors it has, not one is designed with mouse in mind.
I'm also thinking emulation should remain on obscure side of things. Popularity among mouthbreathers who can't search internet for one minute never meant anything good in the long run.

What's the point when RA is so easy to set up on its own?

So not only do I have to put up with RetroArch, but I also have to put up with fucking Steam? Why would I do that?

What even is the point of RetroArch when the emulators (or "cores" as this dumb thing calls them) it offers are outdates as compared to the ones you could find by googling them up yourself

Hey I didn't know this. Thanks op

Steam features such as remote play and streaming
Fair

outdated*

shit interface
I rather deal with individual emulators, they're also better in terms of performance/features, for the most part at least

convenience. you don't need to have to pre-configure controller profiles for most cores, and its also great to have everything on one place.

>online multiplayer on steam through remote play together
That is fucking worthless.

it's convenient until you have to go to settings, then it becomes nightmare

RetroArch is made for subhuman niggers. I downloaded it, it puts me into this consolized big picture mode cancer, very cancerous to navigate with tons of """features""" that are automatically keybound and get activated during gameplay, big fucking yikes.

Uninstalled it asap. I prefer to use the emulators 1 by 1 when needed, fuck off with your niggerarch.

I'd rather have the latest features and best-working emulator than having all of them in one place
Also for one I would not call RetroArch's menus "convenient", they are an absolute messy jumbled clusterfuck

Nobody forces you to do either of those things, faggot.
Stop trying to be mad.

Can't you just use Parsec?

yes but parsec sucks

>program designed to play console games
>"wtf why is this like a console game"

Only if you got a third-worlder computer and/or connection

Sure but remote play is incredibly convenient since it handles everything for you and you don't have to get your partner to jump through nearly as many hoops to connect to you.

>outdated
Except they are not, and many cores have exclusive improvements such as Mupen and Beetle cores.

How about the fact that there are no working PS1 emulators? Or that the DS one is outdated as all fuck (of which you can find an updated version on the internet with new features)? Also don't forget all the pointless duplicates, pic related

Actually that's the opposite of its problem. Retroarch offers the worst of console games (actually playing console games) with the worst parts of PC gaming (absurd, terrible configuration menus, needing to go through hoops just to get games working, and shit can break and malfunction for absolutely no reason)
