Have you ever grown to hate a game you once loved?
Have you ever grown to hate a game you once loved?
a game? i don't think so
but a series? yes
Fuck mass effect 2 and fuck EA
World of Warcraft
Use to play it 12-16 hours in vanilla, tbc, wotlk, cataclysm, mop.
Then wod, legion, and bfa happened, and I haven’t been able to play since. I do play wod and legion, but very briefly, for like 2 weeks max. I never bothered with BFA, it was the first expansion I didn’t play at all or purchase, and I have no intention of playing shadowlands.
Honestly I’ve come to accept I’m not the target audience anymore, and I guess that’s ok, kind of sad though considering how much memories and time I spent on it.
yeah, i was a huge fan of katamari as a kid. i just hate the fact that bandai doesn't care about it as an ip anymore
Madden. Played it on Wii in late 2000s. One of the few things my Dad and I could play together and enjoy. Don't have to explain why I stopped.
12-16 hours *every day*
So yeah it’s really odd to go from playing a game for all of your day, to suddenly having all that time spare. It’s been 6+ years now (since Wod) and I’m still getting use to having so much free time in the day. I spent 2005-2013 all day everyday on WoW so it’d taken me a long time to transition to spending my days now, even 6 years on.
Not your fault Blizzard shit the game. The game you loved was the game you played before. Since they changed so much, it's not you 'growing to hate it', it's them killing the game you played.
Have the same experience with Path of Exile. Loved it so much at first, played for ages until they slowly casualized it to hell and back, focused entirely on stupidity and retardry.
I never got into mass effect do I never understood what happened. Don't most people hate 3 as opposed to 2? What went wrong? All I know is apparently 3 had a shit ending.
Fallout
What do you do to kill time now? Work a job or something?
Everythings the same for me in your story except the hours.
I played less but i still feel kinda hollow inside.
Especially since the friends ive made through those years have ghosted me this year.
Regular Show was a good show. Can we all agree on that?
2010s cartoons are dogshit, grow up zoomer.
Not a game specially but a type of game.
Turn based rpgs.
Used to love that shit as a kid, but now I find them so boring and slow and not very challenging. Used to play final fantasy games and liked the turn based stuff. But now just get impatient and annoyed by it and spam the confirm button through everything just go get past everything.
tf2. mostly cuz the community is awful and i don't want to be associated
I don’t have a normal job, I work from home, I spent like 8 years a NEET playing so I can’t get a normal job. I just buy and sell stuff, like playing WoWs auction house, but in real life. I do a lot of safe investing with the money I make aswell. Other than that, I’m constantly studying and researching various topics, not just financially related, but multiple different areas, history, science, math, politics, philosophy, sociology, psychology, etc. I find all those topics actually work well together in regards to building wealth. Multi-disciplinary studying has this kind of compounding effect where you start to see how to connect the dots of how to “make it” in this world without needing to expend much effort, working smart, not hard, etc
Your brain has deteriorated
Dota 2
>Millennial telling anyone else to grow up
LMAO
You see user. No one much cared for ME1 but it is one of my all time favorite games. Then EA got Bioware, I was hyoed for ME2, and realized it was shit. You reached maxed rank half way through the game, barely any powers, barely any weapons, some new ammo system, and shitty companions. Everyone loved it because "muh story" tho. ME3 was superior gameplay wise.
based
cope
It wasn't just that the ending was shitty.
No but I grew to hate the community it created.
no my tastes have just changed, also fast action based combat takes way more brainpower because you are having to make decisions more quickly and there is way more to the gameplay than just selecting options in a menu and watching animations play out, also I don’t have the time for 100+ hour games anymore where as when you are a kid you have nothing but time
Not a game, but fuck regular show.
>hurr durr have more episodes with muscle man.
>rigby the closet fag.
>mordecai the simp.
Kill all zoomers
I have come to realize the GC Zeldas are so ridiculously flawed, only a child or a mentally challenged person could overlook them.
How so?
Wind Waker is missing an assload of content from start to finish in every area, the combat is made far more simplistic than the N64 games, and the puzzles are babbyshit. The narrative especially suffers with huge holes where there were obviously meant to be dungeons and events.
Twilight Princess has more flesh to it, but still has overly simplistic puzzles. 99% of the enemies are too poor to take advantage of the improved combat. The world itself just doesn't have enough in it to justify the size. The narrative falls off extremely quickly halfway through and never picks back up.
Atmosphere is their only true positive, and even then, it's never a major focus for WW and TP mostly ditches it halfway too.
Skyrim
Understandable you'd feel that way.
Jojo Heritage for The Future.
Tranny territory now.
Yeah it was so great on a first playthough. Then you start to see all the stuff they stripped from previous games.
Warframe. It happened years ago, I would be excited to boot up another game or trip to the void, trying to get whichever new prime had come out
And then I realized around 2 in the morning, after 6 two hour void runs, that I didn't enjoy a moment of it. I could easily have just spent £10 to get all the ash prime parts on the market and wouldn't have to have been playing the fuck out of a level until it got to the point where I get oneshot, just in hopes a part drops, so I can farm the things necessary to build it, so I can wait three days for it to be built. It's put me off looter shooters forever
I should probably sell my account to whatever faggot would give a shit about having excalibur prime
>rigby the closet fag.
>ends up with wife and 2 kids
>loved Titanfall 2 when it first came out, play it for 9 months before my PS4 broke
>buy it again when it drops on Steam and everyone is sweating with the CAR and Kraber while camping rooftops
I'll miss it
>characters look and dress like trannies
>surprised trannies flock to it
I like JoJo just for how ridiculous it is but what did you expect?
Yeah, World of Tanks. Started playing in the beta and after a while suddenly every update just made the game worse. I check back every year or so, play for 2 or 3 hours and uninstall again. It's just not for me any more.
not a game but Botw made me hate my favorite game franchise
Yeah WoW really fell off the deep end after Legion with all the grindy shit they added, expecting you to grind to unlock new races that you then have to grind to level up
>wheeled tank 150m out going over 100km/h pens through the front of your heavy
>hit him with a 750 damage shot to critical hit 1 of his 8 tires for 0 damage
this game is fucking dogshit these days, and the way they implemented STBs hydraulics is fucking shit and whatever they did to its gun is shit too, they ruined my favorite fucking tank
at least the ELC is still fun, its just not fun enough to keep the game installed
shut the fuck up
>literally you
I used to love Kenshi but once you know what you're doing and have crushed a city once or twice the game effectively has nothing new to show you. It turns into a chore to play soon after. The veneer of being a real place is so flimsy and the characters are so flat that even playing it as a more standard RPG has no meat on its bones. It's weird how a game can have a setting that interesting but still desperately need writers to flesh out the world and the people in it.
Breath of the Wild was also a 10/10 for about the first 8 hours but once the honeymoon ended it turned into a 4/10 samey slog. It feels like I'm playing a proof of concept. It's like the empty shell of another better game. It's the only game I've ever played where the best part is the tutorial.
You'd better be talking about the Even 90 because the bis is dogshit compared to it's kino old version.
This. This so much. I haven’t even been playing long (3-4 years) and it’s still noticeably worse now than when I started. My friends who have been playing since launch fucking hate what it’s become.
Ark. The game was great before they added server transfers. Each server had a unique community, some better some worse, but at least the entire meta wasn't zerging a server to "raid" anything in sight. Fucking bugmen
I also hate what WG has done with premium and reward tanks at higher tiers. They used to be kinda meh or gimmicky options for people who wanted to make significant amounts of money. Now you have things like the Skorpion or that tier 10 Chieftain/Burger hybrid that shit on most of the tech tree competition.
I'm not really willing to spend my time and money on a game where the devs do something like that. Not that NA was ever particularly active but it was fun 1 or 2 years into the game.
I just said it's still fun, the old version was way better, and seeing tier 10s in the chaffee was enlightening
yeah seeing the weird tier 10s used to be an oddity, like every once in a while I'd see an M60 or some shit but now they're just everywhere
ARK went to shit when they decided to nerf the dinosaurs in their game about dinosaurs. Why the fuck would anyone want to spent 20 hours taming something when the stats are so bad now?
>acts like a jealous girlfriend.
>doesn't care about girls.
>implying fags can't get married to women and have kids.
