Peter is one of the most popular characters in fictional history. Marvel writers fucking despise him because he's still more popular than any of their token legacy characters.
He's universal, and everyone likes Spider-Man, black people, white people, Asian people, etc. Peter's existence fills the Marvel chodes with seething, contemptible hatred and its amazing.

It's the same goddamn problem they had with the clone saga, they never fucking learn. There's no good reason to replace Peter, and no one who's a fan of spider-man would be in favor of that.

At least they should have done something to really differentiate him along the lines of Venom or Carnage. As it stands Miles is just a walmart clearance bin spider-man. Why the fuck would you go for him when you can get the real thing.

No, not really. Bendis is just a huge faggot who knew you couldn't bury Miles if a big enough push was put behind him. If writers hated Peter they would bury his ass like they did other characters. He's had a ton of good books since Miles debuted.

If anything it's Disney/Marvel's stupid refusal to let Peter be Peter that they seethe about. Most writers try to rile fans up about how shit Peter's post-00s manchild persona is or do everything they can to shit on the stuff that brought them there.

Please don't talk about comics if you don't read them. Marvel commissions plenty of hacks, puts out plenty of bad books, and is generally inept, but the writers who get published don't hate Peter Parker.

There IS an easy way to replace Peter: let him grow old and find peace. Problem is that he's so successful that you can't get the whole company brave enough to let his story end. Peter was a soap opera protagonist for about 25 years until fans of hin took over Marvel and created a deadlock where nobody can take the final step and end his journey.

Marvel CORPORATE has been trying to eat their cake and have it too by keeping Peter in stasis while trying to create replacements. That's not the same as writers despising him.
