I just want someone to tell me what the best Fire Emblem game besides Three Houses is.

Yes and no. It is the absolute low point of the series in terms of waifushit, see head-patting minigames, booba, etc., the CG scenes really speak for themselves. Birthright was also dogshit gameplay-wise, Conquest was just okay. Little too reliant on gimmick maps, but otherwise passable.
Almost any of them; 3H is a severely casualized dating/teaching sim VN that isn't even about battles anymore and practically plays itself.

GOTHW, Sacred Stones, and Path Of Radiance/Radiant Dawn. Also you might as well preorder FE 1 since it's only like 6$ on switch and it's limited time only

Enlighten me, user. I want to agree with you, but I never bothered to play Revelations; what makes it even worse than Birthright?

Different user. While I disagree with the other rankings (Conquest is KINO and BR is better than Awakening/SoV) Rev has poor balance and the maps make you wait instead of play. Story wise it missed several important beats and stuck it in DLC.

The music and presentation was there, and they had some good foundation to work with, but they ruined it with the shitty weeb pandering, practically sabotaged writing, and favoring the weak or gimmicky gameplay instead of the good stuff.

A pretty good example of the retarded balancing is that Hana, an already meh character, shows up at the same base level, but with lower stats. Or Nyx, a lopsided character who needs babying early on, showing up with the same shitty level and base stats as Conquest, except 6 chapters later, alongside a buffed, lvl 10 promoted Shura in the map with the room teleporting gimmick so she can't even be babied right.

It was embarassingly shit.
I can let Birthright pass as just an unusually bad FE but still an okay game but Revelation is actual garbage.

FE3-12 are all better

Birthright was easy, but it was fine for beginners.
Conquest was good, but had a shit story.
Revelations was one of the worst games I've ever played.

Splitting it up into three games was a huge mistake in general. They tried to appease both newfags with Birthright and fans with Conquest (I don't even know who the fuck Revelations was for), but in the process made a directionless mess that wasn't great for anyone.

Fates, Awakening and Three Houses are all garbage and not real Fire Emblem. Kys zoomer filth. Go emulate the GBA and GameCube/Wii games for true Fire Emblem.

Not that guy, but the balance is absolutely atrocious; you get characters the same level they were in their original games regardless of when they appear. Also there are a ton of maps with stupid gimmicks (dig through snow, moving platforms that can only hold four characters, a bunch of switches in different areas, etc.).

Birthright may be piss easy, have an uninventive plot and be generally basic, but at least the Hoshido classes are creative. Mechanist, Merchant and Oni Chieftain are great and it's a shame 3H went safe
