I've been playing this game since the original beta. I bought BFA late and did the first raid the week it launched before quitting. The game is just an unfun hamster wheel at this point. The classes have been getting worse and worse with every expansion(starting in WOD). I kept and eye on SL to see if anything looked promising and this will be the first expansion I don't buy. I've written WoW off as a lost cause. The devs just double down on all off their shitty design decisions that no one wants.

Who cares. The first two weeks will be extremely fun, even BFA was decent during the first two weeks. Then I'll clear the Heroic raid once and probably quit. Maybe I'll stick around for a few months like I did in legion until I cleared Heroic Nighthold and then uninstall.

I wish I had that delusion. BfA was a dumpster fire pretty much from the start and the patch they had to rush to salvage it did not make things better. Legion was actually good for nuWoW, and while people hope for SL to be good, it absolutely won't. There is a 0% chance it will be.

It still gets old after a few weeks obviously, I mostly play this like a single player game until I've seen all the content and sub back when there's new content. I just don't feel any hype about Shadowlands at all. It's like all the fancy paint has been scrubbed off the Skinner Box and we can see all the cynical game design underneath the surface.
There are just too many cool games either out or coming out fairly soon that make WoW look like complete shit. Why grind rep when I could be having a blast in Demon's Souls? And Cyberpunk will be out soon.
It's a generalisation but the only people left playing WoW are the addicted, the sunk cost fallacy victims, and newbs who bought it to see what the fuss was about. Everyone else left it in the past where it belongs.
