ITT: Dead-on-arrival

I saw this as a totally kiddy game and immediately ignored it.
Come to find out it's some kind of horror bait and switch but still, not gonna buy it so meh.

I downloaded the Chink Launcher just to buy it. Great game.

Honestly it's a shame.

The bugsnax part about the game is fun. If the entire game was just about bugsnax then I feel like it would be a great game.
Everything regarding the characters is absolutely horrible. The writing is horrible, the voices are incredibly grating, and the questlines involving the characters are tedious and poorly designed. Worst of all they make up a huge part of the game, so unless if you're taking the game slowly they probably have more screen time than the actual bugsnax the game is based off of.

If the game was just about exploring a deserted island with bugsnax ala.Pokemon Snap it could have been a 8/10 or 9/10 easily, but being heavily based on characters drags it down to 6/10 easily. Remembering the most painful parts of the story makes me want to rate it 4/10.

Given there's no actual sex going on? Yes. There are several horror movies with PG-13 as a rating or whatever. Some of them even having swearing or graphic violence and innuendos.
