The good thing is that the complete lack of first party games has let indies and smaller games flourish. Hades sold crazy well on the switch. Sakuna got her day in the sun. People are actually hyped for no more heroes now. Nintendo definitely blew it, but I'm happy with the outcome. Switch becoming the dedicated platform for indies thanks to the mutual connection of the developer's limited budget and Switch's limited performance capability is a dream come true. Now indies have a platform with a huge install base and no AAA hundred million tech demos to be compared against.

They had the most successful games this year, Sword and Shield and Animal Crossing. It doesn't get nominated because Geoff thinks his medium is above 'kidshit' and also hates Japan with a burning passion and makes all of his shows tailor-made to fuck over Japanese games.
