American with Ring Fit Adventure: 'I am growing stronger'

Now I look and feel better from playing this game.

>this thing won't do shit
Gotta try it before you can say if it works or not. The story is fun too.

For most people doing literally anything works

It's definitely cheaper than hitting the shiitty machines at a local gym

Nice for avoiding the virus too since you don't need to share equipment or anything.
But eventually I gotta pick up some weights to keep progressing.

It's authentically what most people need out of a personal trainer.
>hey here's some simple exercises and a reason to do them.
>I'll count for you and tell you when you've done enough
>Wow, good job! Keep it up
It won't make you a serious athlete, but it's somewhere to start, and that's great.

It's sure as fuck what I needed. Normally I'd be doing judo 2-3 times a week, but with covid resurging and all the time I had to take off before I'm scared of plague and injury. This game is helping me get less worse.

played it for some weeks till i got fucking tendonitis
would like to continue it but afraid that'll fuck up my feet again

Just started this last week, it's pretty fun but God I'm out of shape.

people underestimate the power of suggestion and motivation

Its sounds good on paper but you have to pair the exercise with eating properly, no more fast foods, sugary water, or candy.

the game makes a point about it too.

My diet has always been garbage and I lost 70 pounds in a year in highschool and have kept most of it off sicne just by doing some simple exercises.
I could go lower or stay at this easier if I had a better diet but it's far from necessary.

i started playing a few days ago, it's fun
cant wait to git gud

You disgust me. Keep up the good work.

I hope you can lose that gyno

honestly its a very good game
and as someone that is already relatively fit, holy fuck this thing can get exhausting.
i know all the fags on here think theyre tough, but its hard to grasp how much resistance the ring can actually give you without trying it for yourself

post dick

The most important and powerful thing it does as a surrogate PT is simultaneously keeping you focused on a goal, while distracted from yourself.

When I lift in my garage, I tend to take a good breather between sets, maybe too much of one (although the risk of injury if your focus falls thru is a lot greater than RFA).

RingFit keeps me moving well past the point of being gassed, because it's not a question of pacing my reserves against the remainder of a workout and/or how well I feel, it's a question of whether I want to stop a catwalk run short before the goal, or if that sexy dragon in a unitard is going to see me bitch out in the middle of a fight even though my quads are screaming from 100squats.

S'good stuff.

>or if that sexy dragon in a unitard is going to see me bitch out in the middle of a fight even though my quads are screaming from 100squats.

>do a long set of overhead squats against him
>difficulty 28 by the way
>have to block his kick by holding overhead squat right after
I did it, but could barely stand after

you know the rules, tits or gtfo

played it for like a month straight then slowly just played less and now haven't played in like 3 months.

I hate that I have 0 ability to adhere to a long term routine. This has been happening with all forms of exercise routines for the past 10+ years. Start, everything is good, slowly start to fall off the routine, stop altogether.

This is such a fatal flaw in myself and I wish I didn't have it. I go to work, eat, piss, etc. every day as part of a routine schedule but I can't stick to THIS routine that's actually good for me. Fuck me

I just started playing this again after a several month break, the rhythm game segment is really fun and it's nice to do in short bursts.
This game is just really good, I'm glad its a success.

user look up the book "mini habits", it helped me a lot.

Very common. People are good at putting in effort for about two months. Just start again like you hadn't started before. Reup quarterly. Getting mad at yourself is not useful, so just skip feeling bad and recommit.

It's a very common thing, like I'm finding myself fall out of habit/trying to subconsciously cheat my current regimen. After the honeymoon period you have to force yourself to keep going. One thing that helped me was to add just enough intensity to get that muscle burn that I had in the beginning to keep the momentum going every now and then.

What are some other good exercise games?

unironically fitness boxing

DDR was great, if that's still an option for you.
Beat Saber's a decent workout. I sometimes like to play Gorn with wrist weights and stone fists in-game.

I'm thinking about getting this because I'm a lard but I fear I might not have enough space. Should I just play beat saber seriously instead?

lol of course a lard would think playing beat saber is excercise, just get ringfit since at least you're doing more than waving your arms

Ring Fit has more to offer in terms of full-body and strength workouts. However it really is just sets of ring and bodyweight exercises. Beat Saber is more intrinsically fun. They're both good for different stuff. Variety is good, just do both. Also if you have room for VR you should be fine. You don't have to actually go anywhere, just swing your arms around and do lunges and stuff.
