BotW Link never really had the Green Tunic as part of his attire. The armour he's wearing is the Hylian Knight's attire during the BotW-era although his standard attire is the Champion's outfit with a blue shirt not too dissimilar to the one that Zelda wears in OP's pic and the Traveller's pants.

I do think that Link has ambiguously worn armor under the tunic in the past, too (I think his outfits were called mail in ALttP, for example). TP and SS actually showed the mail under the green tunic. It just wasn't full armor.
