A graphics card alone costs almost as much as a console with said graphics card

>a graphics card alone costs almost as much as a console with said graphics card
How does that shit even work? Is every other component of a console bottom of the barrel garbage to make up for it? Or are these things just hilariously overpriced?

what is online subscription fees/mark up for game developers/retard meme currency for $5, alex

mix between the two

buy it in bulk
sell the box at markup
>consoles

Consoles work on a different way, with their dedicated chips and processors doing the graphics, pretty much how you'd imagine an integraded graphics card.
If you were to mod a console into a somewhat pc interface it would suck at everything not gaming.

>2020
>still being a literal troglodyte who can't into building a PC
You should stay away from a PC as possible.

you should go bitch smack your english teacher

>gpus are expensive!
>*pays 500 dollars over 5 years to use my own internet*

>No subscription fees
>No online only bullshit
>No DLC
>Only good games
>The games you own are yours forever
>Costs less than a gaming PC

Why haven't you taken the SNESpill yet?

I'm ESL but at least I know how to build a PC without spending $4000 like you retards were led to believe

hey you're singing linkin park to the choir, I got a gaming laptop for 18 hunnid'

Anyone know where to get good deals on GPUs in canada? I want to make a decent gaming pc but the parts keep adding up to the same price if not slightly more than prebuilt shit

gave mine to my nephew...
still play some games on my PS Classic modded

youre forgetting that PCs are supposed to do a lot of other things than just play games on them.

probably because you are adding some kind of meme $300 motherboard instead of the $50 chinkshit they put in prebuilts, 90% of prebuilts also have 1 stick of ram

Mid range cards cost like 300-400 dollars, and cpus have hardly needed to be upgraded in the last 5 years. You might start off with an initial investment of like 1k for a great performance pc, but in 5 years when consoles reset again, you'll likely only really need the gpu upgrade. Combine that with the lower cost of games and infinitely larger library that goes no where, emulators, and the fact that it fucking does more than just play games, the shit becomes exponentially cheaper long game than any console. The big problem for most consumers is that despite how hard they have pushed it, there just not normie friendly enough. With console, you have that one box, you insert credit card numbers, and the game spits game back out to you like netflix now, or you go to the store and get the game, put it in and it's there. If a normie ever needs to trouble shoot an issue, it's instantly not worth it

>good deals
>canada
buy used shit off ebay and cross your fingers

consoles are sold at negative profit, with the hopes that they make their numbers back with live services. it's impossible to buy the same hardware power at the cost of the consoles in 2020.

>400CAD for a goddamn 2060
Mother of fuck

When windows can be hacked on these nextgen consoles this can be a real conversation. Until then the value you get out of building a PC outweighs being stuck on proprietary Sony/Xbox ecosystem.

>with the hopes that they make their numbers back with live services
That sounds completely fucking retarded but knowing just how dumb consoletrannies are, I'm not surprised that it actually works in their favor.

Consoles are sold at a loss because they assume they will make up some of the money in game sales.

Unrionically the Alienware r10 or w/e the $2200 3080 prebuilt is the best value you can get in Canada. This country is so fucked for tech.

>the parts keep adding up to the same price if not slightly more than prebuilt shit
they always use USD pricing, don't they? might be throwing you off

tfw used cards are just 30-50 bucks below retail price

alienware is never good value
>overpriced case
>overpriced proprietary motherboard(with trash bios) and dell's gimmick psu's
>mystery brand memory/storage/fans/cooler
they're a genuine trap for children paying with daddy's money

Next gen barely outclasses a GTX 1660 and is likely going to get outclassed by the the lower end GTX 3000 series rumored to release later this year.

U dum

I did. Got an emulator running on my PSP.

Console makers sell the console at an extremely meager profit or a loss because they make money from the software. Companies that only sell hardware have to sell the hardware at a profit to make money, so the retail prices are higher.

>Next gen barely outclasses a GTX 1660

massive cope lol

New console GPUs are 8GB, aren't they? Usually that sits around Medium for games made to run better on PC. A 6GB card'll still run through this gen.

He's right. PS5 and XSX specs seem just as meme as every gen before.

They run Assassin's Creed Valhalla at a silky smooth 55fps at a weird ass 2304 x 1296 resolution, we're one week into this gen and shit is already compromised

cope

If you factor in that multiplatform games (games that come out on xbox) will have to be playable on the series S and that the PS5 is downclocked to GTX 980 levels even if it's a 2070 equiv on paper, yes.

Not true, why are pcfarts so insecure they have to lie like this?
