passed off and accepted as "good enough" and as a result brought down the standard of what future warhammer games could be

We don't anymore now that this got announced.

developers/publishers didn't care about it
expensive dlc with 5 seconds of content
not enough content and 99% of the missions blend together
boils down to 2 enemies
dlc adds extra enemies but might as well just be reskins of existing enemies and randomly pop up
meh. soulless, but decent for 20-30 hours if you don't fuck up and buy the dlc.

also gear and loot feels pointless and crates are trash that you let pile up unless you're playing high difficulty, then you get a 0.00005% chance to get something good that's just as boring as the non-rare stuff.

Most cancer mains?

I liked the first game more, but I still like this one. What I hate is the devs.

It is hard to believe that the game is 2 years old and the DLC amounts to so little.

Shouldn't be 100GB file size for what's contained in the game...

Why is it so big

I hate to hate this game. Devs are completely sellout assholes who only pander for competitive retards in a fucking co-op game.

Imagine what would be this games with mods like L4D2

Yeah, especially considering how superb the DLC was for the Vermintide 1.

Warhammer is a garbage franchise

handmaiden
OP as fuck crutches to every stat, act like they are top tier clutch gods
movement speed + melee stab move accelerate + super safe dash ult with 3 second cooldown and stealth = wHy arE mY TeaMaTEs sO slOWW?!?
stealth mains never understand how stealthing is bad for teammates especially if you aggro fucking everything and take the attack courtesy window the ai gives you before stealthing
oh and elfs are faggots with anime steam profiles

Extremely fun core gameplay loop, bafflingly incompetent devs and shitty support. Hugely overpriced DLCs.

Simply this. I love both Vermintide 1 & 2 but at some point you hit a wall where you've pretty much done everything there is to the game. Grinding items isn't really an incentive to keep playing. It's like L4D2, you replay all the maps until you've had your fill and never touch the game again until years later with your buddies.

It could be great

The core gameplay, setting (they don't get credit for this obviously), and characters are all so fucking excellent that I still play it to this day, solo cata gives me a genuine rush that most games stopped giving me years ago. But the devs have absolutely fucked the support for the game to a point that is unbelievable, all they had to do was add more of the same, more maps, weapons, careers, enemies, it was that simple. Instead they waste a year of dev time to add a single map and some fucking awful mini game. Recently they seem like they might be able to get back on track though with the balance beta being successful and them actually making dlc careers, but they're still so damn slow to actually make the content. I think if chaos wastes ends up being good then there's hope, but if it's another winds of magic then things won't ever get better. But again despite all this i still play the shit out of it because the gameplay is just that good.

The game is just a grind fest with such little content. I honestly dont know how you can expect people to want to replay this after a few dozen hours. Even left 4 dead is more replayable somehow.

they got filtered by chaos spawns and chaos patrols

You have no clue as to how low the standard for warhammer games already are. Vermintide was high above the standard when it came out

stealth in multiplayer games is a mistake

I probably have 100 hrs on the game and I still find chaos spawns tricky

Rts aside I'd say it's easily the best one

I wish they would import more of the maps from V1 and add in fucking horde mode.
>defend the wells map
>black powder
>Schusselschloss and other Horde modes
Horde mode in the first game was hard but gave you breathers with rewards after a few waves. V2 horde mode would be fun since it'd give you a chance to just let loose with your ult and test out builds. The other maps also added variety.
Most of the V2 Maps are just run through it and thats it.

They need an outstanding DLC, one just brought a handful of maps from the first game, another added beastmen and was terrible on release, Weave mode is unfun as well.

The laziness of the devs can be seen even in the DLC. Instead of getting cool new characters with unique personalities or new campaigns that sprawl new locations and factions in the warhammer universe, Kruber gets a grail knight skin and we get vermintide 1 remakes, winds of magic and like 2 or 3 levels per dlc pack.

I like the game a lot and still play everyday. I used to dislike FS as a developer though, but the last year or so they've turned it around.

Also wtf ever happened to Versus mode?
They were hyping it up and it looked like V2 was going to have more modes, more activities, more fun. It just kind disappeared.
They have to revamp the endgame, it takes a while to get red items, but even then if you get 3 red jewels you're way more powerful across all characters.
The cosmetic shop was a step in the right direction but it came out way too late. They need more armor models instead of lazy reskins as rewards from achievements/store.
One of the funner things too was in V1 when you applied your trinkets all 3 appeared on your person, like the fish on a hook you can put on your chest or belt, it looked cool. More customizability is a good thing.
I wish half the sanctioned mods for the game worked again, there was a really cool one that made it so whatever you picked up was on your body. If someone had a healing draught you saw a glowy green vial on their hip, same with potions and grims/tomes.

they said they announced it too early and had commitments to SP they wanted to fulfill. they're also slow workers so those commitments take forever. right now they only have a skeleton crew working on it

From what I heard FS just made their games and abandoned it, I was happy when V1 came out they didn't just leave it and instead improved on it. V2 was a disaster from the start which is what I think hurt it and kept ppl from continuing playing. I'm glad they still care to some extent instead of just dropping V2 and going to that L4D 40k clone.
True, so much potential. I would've much rather Kruber become a Warrior Priest. One of the poster boys for Old World Empire are fucking Warrior Priests, I'm sure people who play the game only know of Bretonnian Knights because of Total Warhammer.

the warrior priest is reserved for saltzpyre.

Aren't they some swedish/norwegian dev?
From what I know they barely do any work and have a lot of company trips/time to themselves so shit takes forever to get churned out.

That would be cool, I feel zealot is too close to Warrior Priest thematically

yes, they are pretty damn lazy. it took 2-3 years for them to finally do the QOL/UI update and it was all half ass compared to what mods could already do. i don't know the specifics but they're engine is retarded to work with too, it takes 9 months to make a map or so they've said.

Scummy devs, glitchy game.

it would seem that way at first glance but they aren't. zealots are light armored semi-mindless berzerkers, warrior priests are heavily armored commanders and leaders with some decent holy magic

The core gameplay is great, but the devs failed to capitalize on it for the longest time and basically sabotaged it on occasion.
It's in a decent place right now and more content is close. On the other hand there are still persistent bugs and starting the game with the limited hero power and the stupidly restricted item grind is no fun.

If anything it brought the standard up with the best representation of the setting even better than Total Warhammer.

Its good just the games not always.
