It wasn't enough to sell vr as anything more than just a tech demo. Nothing about the mechanics of alyx required vr to pull off barring the standard "lmao eject and put mag in pistol" shit and all the story it told did was hype people up for half life episode 3 or half life 3 whichever comes first or at all.

As amazing as an experience as vr is, there's been nothing built for it that is a full price package. And no developer seems intent on making that a reality.

She looks fine. Her model is just unfinished with the AO being wrong, but folks have fixed it and it looked perfectly fine. The ending was done only a few weeks before release, so they were going all in. It's the same reason why Gordon's model isn't finished, but it doesn't matter because you only see him in shadow.
