Sonic was never good

2021 is shaping up to be a VERY important year for SEGA. For multiple franchises, no less. First up, it's the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog. And Iizuka have already confirmed that they have at least one title deep in development to coincide with the 30th anniversary.

Yet another 30th anniversary in 2021 is Puyo Puyo. Every 5 years, SEGA would without fail release an anniversary Puyo Puyo title. And since Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is not that, then it's safe to say that they have yet another game in development for 2021.
Noted.

I'm hard pressed to believe they will have it ready for 2021. Sammy has been bleeding heavily from this global shutdown and Sega will be affected in some way from that.

Can I work at Sega?

And yet ANOTHER 30th anniversary next year. That's THREE 30th anniversary for 2021; turns out 1991 was an important year for SEGA, eh? Anyways, the Shining series producer have hinted that they are aware that 2021 is the series' 30th anniversary since 1991's Shining in the Darkness. And he has since confirmed that they have something to announce to coincide with that event. So here's hoping for something good, maybe?
Shinign Force 4 never ever, don't bother. That ship has sailed.
I still have not played Resonance Refrain, funnily enough.

Only if you post cute Cream fanart.
I am inclined to believe that the COVID shutdown will actually help *quicken* the development of future game titles for consoles, since SEGA themselves have said that their software sales have been doing very good, in contrast to their physical amusements (arcades, casino, hotels, etc.). In fact, thanks to the recent GENDA acquisition, didn't SEGA themselves said that some amount of staff normally delegated to arcade game development have now been transferred over to console game development?

Yakuza 7 was pretty good from what I heard so they should be good until the next sonic title

The source, if anyone's curious:

SEGAbits have generally been rather reliable and not prone to susceptible to rumours and hearsay, so I am inclined to take their word for it.

>Total War and Football Manager is what bring Sega money (+Amplitude games and Sonic)
What should be their next step?

Also a reminder with regards to the recent GENDA acquisitions:
1. SEGA will still develop arcade games, but at a lower pace.
2. The existing SEGA arcades in Japan will still retain the "SEGA" branding, only difference is that they'll be handled under new management.

So *technically*, SEGA is not completely out of the arcade business. GENDA bought a majority share SEGA Entertainment and the latter is only involved with the management of those centres and is not involved with actual arcade title development.

Buying the Command & Conquer IP from EA and making new C&C games.

You guys think Daisuke Sato would unironically make a good sonic?

I still haven't played Nights through completion. I think I only ever played like the first level.

Rule of cool.

Comfy Sega thread! No games announced this year! Not even annual asset flip Rehashuza #17! Dead company I say! Dead!

It doesn't feel like Sakura Wars anymore and looks closer to Infinite Stratos, which is a bad idea.

>There will never be another OutRun game
>The only modern way to play it is a cracked PC version that is glitchy

Not a graphicfag but... Daytona and Jet set radio on the 360 arcade ports looks fucking beautiful. Colorful as hell.
