Comfy SEGA Thread
Sonic was never good
2021 is shaping up to be a VERY important year for SEGA. For multiple franchises, no less. First up, it's the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog. And Iizuka have already confirmed that they have at least one title deep in development to coincide with the 30th anniversary.
Yet another 30th anniversary in 2021 is Puyo Puyo. Every 5 years, SEGA would without fail release an anniversary Puyo Puyo title. And since Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is not that, then it's safe to say that they have yet another game in development for 2021.
Noted.
I'm hard pressed to believe they will have it ready for 2021. Sammy has been bleeding heavily from this global shutdown and Sega will be affected in some way from that.
Can I work at Sega?
And yet ANOTHER 30th anniversary next year. That's THREE 30th anniversary for 2021; turns out 1991 was an important year for SEGA, eh? Anyways, the Shining series producer have hinted that they are aware that 2021 is the series' 30th anniversary since 1991's Shining in the Darkness. And he has since confirmed that they have something to announce to coincide with that event. So here's hoping for something good, maybe?
Shinign Force 4 never ever, don't bother. That ship has sailed.
I still have not played Resonance Refrain, funnily enough.
Only if you post cute Cream fanart.
I am inclined to believe that the COVID shutdown will actually help *quicken* the development of future game titles for consoles, since SEGA themselves have said that their software sales have been doing very good, in contrast to their physical amusements (arcades, casino, hotels, etc.). In fact, thanks to the recent GENDA acquisition, didn't SEGA themselves said that some amount of staff normally delegated to arcade game development have now been transferred over to console game development?
Yakuza 7 was pretty good from what I heard so they should be good until the next sonic title
