Yes this is scary
Ol did you think the soma monsters were scary?
It was scary but it also kinda became a meme at the same time and stopped being scary.
Yes.
Terry Akers scared the fuck out of me. He looks anemic but he's actually freakishly athletic. Knocking down steel doors and whatnot. Hard to run away if he sees you unless you have a generous head start.
Look at his tiny shriveled dick
Garbage game garbage series except for Amnesia 1, and even that game is just a 1 hit wonder. That's what happens when other crappy studios take over production of your franchise. Machine for pigs was the most boring pretentious trash I've ever played in my life
Play SOMA and Penumbra then
Wait, why is this getting me aroused?
You must have not played very many videogames then.
The sound design in SOMA is fucking top notch. Between horrific screaming they start to make and the music that starts playing, getting caught by Akers or the proxies is genuinely terrifying.
You've lost all control of your life bro
SOMA was actually OK, I think it's one of the only horror walking sims I've played to the end. To be honest I can't wait until this youtuber bait walking sim trend ends and we can go back to action horror games like The Suffering and Condemned. Amnesia wasn't a terrible game but it did terrible damage to the genre.
The monsters are the least scary part of Soma
Cope harder. A Machine for Pigs makes Duke Nukem Forever and Aliens Colonial Marines look like riveting masterpieces.
Oh, how about Lost in Vivo then?
It's on my wishlist, is it worth getting? If it's like Cry of Fear I might pick it up this weekend
It's closer to an FPS Silent Hill 1 aesthetically but it's got similarities to Cry of Fear. Definitely give it a shot
If you like these designs check out Dobrin Vasiliev, he's only done monsters for Dead Frontier 2 to my knowledge, but his designs are so fucking weird and cool
this game was really nowhere near as good as their previous ones. and the devs were hyping the shit out of it too.
I'M GOING INSANE
but really the old one is disturbing
Thanks user, I'll check them out.
>Dead Frontier
that's a name I havent heard in awhile. I used to be completely addicted to that game
It's hilarious after desensitization, scary on first playthrough.
Akers > Amnesia servant fags > Jin Yoshida > Proxy (no sight guys) > lots of blue eyes guys > mummy > messy robot.
Seethe.
nah, it was never scary. That shit was always pretty retarded. People just overreacted like crazy when it came to seeing it for no reason, which made other people feel like "Yeah, this is scary" even though it wasn't. Hell, people had the same reaction to slenderman in the slender game, and he's a fucking poorly made faceless model that looks like some default asset office worker who's skin is pale.
I would like to see his work in more zombie games like The Black Masses and V1RUZ, too many horror games use vanilla artists with no imagination
what's so scary about Donald Duck?
It's the COD effect.
>make successful game
>every other developer sees $$$ and feels the need to imitate you
>often copies only the worst and most superficial elements
Now we have shit like Outlast where an adult male protagonist can't smack an decrepit old woman on the back of her head and take her kitchen knife. Instead, every main character has to bumble around in the dark, whimpering and sobbing like a fat kid hiding from his drunken stepdad.
