3D platformers aren't a thing that can exist. At least not in the current formula. Collectathons make them adventure games enemies make them action. Makes it about exploring the world and killing monsters just like Zelda.
The jumping is ultimately meaningless.

I enjoy the movement mechanics. Moons are a little cluttered, a small handful (fucking volleyball) are terrible, and the capture system could've been utilized much better, but it's at least a decent 3D Mario entry.
