Stainless steel user, it "fixes" them by removing their secondary weapons alltogether.
While it have the side effects of making them retardedly deadly on walls, it work just fine on normal grounds.
The issue come from Stainless Steel buffing cavalry to absolutely fucktarded length, like I said you can charge spears and spikes head first and your men will come out of it just fine, and generals are even stronger, faction leaders are nearly unkillable.

Yeah I went to an indie game showcase once and I saw something that looked similar/cool and it was kind of a total war style game in a Rome setting but it focused mostly on logistics. I looked it up later and it got terrible reviews.

Probably either broken or too complex or not fun. Total War is the right mix of comfy and complex
