It's honestly not that good in all seriousness, the only thing that it has going for it is it's aesthetic, which I can see people hating, I disliked the majority of the gameplay, and while the story line was okay, the dialogue read like some English Major dropout wrote it

Pretty lame once you realize the devs blew their load on writing the first half and the second is empty, everything is on rails, nothing you do makes any difference whatsoever, the real killer is introduced 20 minutes before the game ends and everything else was a red herring that you wasted time on thinking you were doing meaningful police work.
And then you're treated to a superficial summary of your "choices" by an NPC who just lists them, then you get end credits.

It's fun if you like reading. The political stuff is literally just a coping mechanism for the main character, in a world that he doesn't understand and that doesn't understand him.
On my second playthrough now, in the first one I was a no drugs boring cop, in this one I'm trying to unlock every politcal ideology and with the power of drugs superstar my way to victory. Kim hates me though.

I really liked the idea that each of your skills/attributes had a personality and investing in each gives their influence/accuracy more effectiveness, but the commie pandering was boring. I wish they'd take the same mechanics into a more interesting setting/story.

I liked it, but the second half and ending are mostly a wash. People call it a commie game, but its a pretty thorough takedown of 20th century ideologies in general, and I think ultimately pretty critical of communist thought, especially its modern exponents.
Fun mechanics, but sadly for all the flexibility of the initial story development, the game is extremely linear.

Commie trash that you can get hard-locked in if you don't play the right way. I got stuck in the office with the fat fuck and there was no way out, confirmed by devs and they also confirmed they wouldn't patch it out. 0/10 for a game released after 2005.
