No, games just got shittier somehow as tech evolved. I can still go back and play older games and have a blast, I can also find newer games that are designed to feel ”old” and have fun playing those games aswell.

How can I be nostalgic for games I never played before? I never owned a DC or PS2 yet I continue to find games on those systems that I enjoy thanks to emulation and the same goes for any console released before I was even born or PC games released between the 90’s and early 00’s since I never owned a PC growing up. I didn’t get to old, the developers just stopped making games that appeal to me and others like me
