Microsoft is quietly exiting the console space and using XSX and XSS to pitch game boxes as standardized format like DVD players and BD players were so that places like Samsung, Panasonic, etc. are making their own standard play box that comes packaged with Game pass and xbox controllers.
Microsoft wants to control the market of selling and playing games. It's all a trojan horse for gamepass and destroying console boxes and pcs.

Say what you want about Xbox and PS5 in terms of exclusives and modern titles, but backwards compatibility is so insanely underappreciated that it hurts and Xbox is doing it right. Once they start adding new titles to their BC catalog (they stopped when the Series X was announced in order to make sure everything worked perfectly on the new hardware) it's going to be really exciting. Sure, not everyone gives a shit about previous generation titles, but there's so many Xbox and 360/PS3 gems that can't be played anymore that will eventually be made perfectly playable with improved graphics and frame rate on the Series hardware that I get pumped just thinking about it.

Halo 5 mops the floor with any snoy exclusive, and being able to share games with my PC is a bonus as far as I'm concerned

I still own the original Xbox, the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. I was on the fence about these new system but I think I made up my mind now. MS failed to deliver to us fans.
