Is it worth getting this thing for SW: Squadrons? Also uhh I mean I heard the porn on this thing is amazing as well, not that I will be getting it for that. But what do you guys think about VR in general?

its a good entry level headset, works well with most games. waiting for doom 3 vr that some fans are working on

What are some good games to recommend? Also you think the 64GB is enough if I plan on hooking it up to a gaming PC?

its the best headset available for porn. you can easily stream all sorts of porn content wirelessly from your pc, which also mean you can watch it wherever you want. you can also load the video files directly on the device if you dont have access to your pc.

Where and how much? Just curious. I already bought mine.

64gb is enough. You won't be buying too many games off the oculus store anyway since they're pretty expensive. You can install some free stuff with sidequest. I find most of my space taken up by JAVs.

Make sure to nab the humble vr bundle while you can.

what's a good link cable?
I don't want to buy the shitty 80$ oculus one

the 64 is good for me cause i play pcvr mostly. try boneworks, Into The Radius(janky but fun), compound, and fallout 4vr with mods.

search on amazon for link cable for quest 2. several will pop up.

Can't fucking wait for Doom 3. Finally used QuestZDoom and Lambda and was blown away, I hope more games get dedicated vr ports.

Microsoft Store has them for $250.

Re4 is hopefully going to come out in april and not be slowed due to this hack.

Anker cable with extension, idr the specific kind but it should pop up in recommendations. Just make sure its usb 3

Hopefully not

The lack of compatibility between different VR headsets makes me wary of buying one.

Like software compatibility? You can use revive to play oculus store games and all of them can use steam vr

That looks just like a USBC to USBC cable...

I think user is talking about the commonly bought cables that people recommend for link, not the official one. You could use c to c as long as you have a port on your gpu

It needs to come straight out of the GPU? I guess I will need to buy a 3070 now...

only if you're using usb c, you don't have to though a usb 3 does the same job

i played with a 1060 usb c to a. worked pretty good. upgraded to a 2080 now its even better.

I only have 2 HDMI and 2 Display, no USBC coming out of my GPU(1070).

Virtualdesktop over is supposedly an option as well.

Also I don't have one but I don't think you connect it to your GPU, it just needs to be USB 3 from the quest to the PC.

Just a usb port on your computer. Not on the GPU. Doesn't need to be a fancy usb but usb 3 is recommended.

I thought there was already a doom 3 vr mod, I heard bethesda gave fans the source code to do so properly even

>the porn on this thing
good luck explaining your VR activity to your friends when it appears on your Facebook timeline

There's already a Doom 3 VR mod on PC based on the BFG Edition. What he's talking about is an ongoing effort to make a Quest-native VR sourceport. Essentially the same thing, but running on the Quest's own hardware.

No thanks.

Who?

Is a quest 2 upgrade noticable from the original rift? I dont like the link cable thing, they say your image is compressed or streamed and there is a delay.

Yes. Link, as of the v23 update, is no longer really causing any visual issues on the Quest 2. It's genuinely kind of remarkable what they're doing with a compressed video stream.
As for picture quality you're seeing a massive bump in pixel count and essentially no screen door effect, but since it's now an LCD you're going to be getting noticeably worse black levels.
