Is ultrawide a meme?
Is it truly worth spending the extra neetbucks for it?
Is ultrawide a meme?
And more to the point, is the G34WQC worth more than the G32QC ?
i bought the G34WQC like a month ago and shits awesome. i probably can never go back from ultrawide now after actually playing on it
How's browsing and videos on it?
Really really tempted on it but it does cost 150 more eu than the G32QC. Just want to know if i should hope on board.
why would you need ultrawide unless you're a racing sim tard?
get a job, fag
ultra narrow is superior
>get a job, fag
I got the money and then some, chump.
I just want to know if it's actually worth it or is it pure bullshit.
I would imagine third person rpgs and rts would look gorgerous, but people only test them with shootans and racing sims, so I can't tell.
If I had the dollar to support it and upgrade my GPU then I'd definitely do it.
Can you resize the desktop on it to play at like 2560x1440 without it downgrading the entire ultrawide desktop to that level?
Got a MSI MAG341CQ myself, and I really don't have a powerful computer.
The display itself is great, old(er) games that can run in 3440x1440, such as RTS games look great. Homeworld in ultrawide makes me happy.
If something is more graphics intensive you can run it at 2440x1440 and use GPU scaling to put black bars either side, so its like having just a normal 1440p monitor.
How;s browsing on it?
When it works for a game right out the gate it's best experience you can have with a high refresh rate one but if you have to mod a game to use it then it's a fucking pain in the ass.
max FOV
More information on a screen.
They are for people with an interest in RPGS, RTS, FPS and where immersion counts. Not everything that isn't common place is a meme, sometimes it's just an investment in your interest the same as multi-colored DnD dice or specialized kitchen knives. Whether its worth spending is up to you, because You don't NEED these things but they improve your personal experience doing something you like. If you can afford it why not?
Ultrawide curved is amazing this is mine really good one.
Well you've answered my question, thanks friend
No. All PC monitor are pretty bad, just save a bit and buy an LG CX just for gaming.
That said if you have no monitor at all for a new PC then sure they're amazing but there's only a few recent ultrawides worth buying and like every single other PC monitor, they're not perfect
Also
>don't expect many games to work out of the box, lots of them will require some light tweaking, many of which are available on PC gaming wiki
>forget about the IPS models, anything with black bar will drive you crazy especially at night, you need to find the fast VA ones, and they're expensive
>you need to find the ones with good backlight strobing mode (BFI) and as far as I know there isn't many of them
I have the MSI flagship 1440p144hz ultrawide, it was 900$ new when I got it, that was still cheaper than the LG equivalent ultrawide and it was still better, and even STILL, it's not perfect, no gaming monitor is perfect, OLED TVs completely btfo PC monitors for gaming now. I don't regret my purchase at all (you need a monitor anyway for 144hz games, and general work and shitposting, because an OLED TV would be too risky to use all the time) but I'll still buy an LG CX eventually for 60FPS games in particular and any games struggling to run at 120 or 144fps on my PC.
You can just run the CX in 21:9 resolution anyway if you find a compatible games and think you'll benefit from the wider physical FOV, and it'll be just as big anyway. Since OLED TV have perfect black the black bars are basically invisible.
>oled screen for pc
No.
ultrachads post your monitors
I'd much rather have two screens then one wide one.
not a meme, Ultrawide is a superior gaming experience in every day.
21:9 is perfect. Get the LG 34GN850 - 3440x1440p 144hz
That's what I said literally, yes.
I'm saying you get a relatively good 144hz ultrawide for 144hz games and you also get an LG CX for games that can't run that fast.
Because picture quality is important, and motion quality is even more important and framerate has a direct impact on motion quality, and the lower the FPS is, the higher of the OLED TVs shine due their native 60hz BFI move who can run 60FPS content with the motion clarity of the 1000hz ufo on pic related. PC monitors cannot do that (at least not at 60FPS) they refuse to allow 60hz BFI mode because strobing the backlight at such a low refresh rate could induce head aches, which is true but they're dumb
That's why the absolute best setup IMO is to get both an ultrawide VA and an OLED TV.
Fucking retard don't you know neetbux are for alcohol, weed, and smokes?
It's pretty nice. Most games don't work with it at all though. Dark Souls 3 you have to hack the exe for it work. Stuff like Skyrim will break the UI if you try to get it to work. Haven't really cared about other games to look. You can have a full 1920x1080 game or video playing and still use browser on the side of the screen.
16:9 is perfect. I actually still hate that movies are 21:9 or whatever. I know movie theaters have been like that for a long time but I still hate it.
ultra wide is for mmos and rts.
Extremely stupid for anything else, like extremely fucking stupid.
Not a meme, I love mine
Most games get patches. Even games that natively support it but poorly get patches. It seems the UW chads are passionate enough to do this, even super niche games often get almost day one UW hacks.
Ultrawide is the only way to play on pc
My desk is small, so I can only have one good monitor. OLED burn in is unacceptable.
This is the exact same argument 16:10fags used for years which is even less wide.
What sort of logic is this? Why would only mmos and RTSes benefit from the wider FOV but not anything else?
I've already saved almost 5000 euro dollars from neetbux.
So for the purposes of generic gaming, browsing and porn watching.
32 inch 16:9 with a 24 inch dual monitor setup..
Or just a single 34 inch 21:9 ultrawide?
vertical information is much less important than horizontal info
fast games like fps are a paint to play in ultra wide but yeah, slow games like darksouls work just fine, again ultrawide is dumb just get a 4k screen at that point if you want BIG and QUALITY
I bought a 27GN950-B and the backlight is driving me insane. It will turn off for certain parts of the screen that are particularly dark, but it takes a while to turn back on, so after loading scenes half of the screen gradually turns on. Good monitor otherwise I guess.
