In 2017 they tried to port RE7 to Switch, but it couldn't work to any satisfactory level, so they made a modified RE Engine that functions well with Switch with Switch in mind (though it can easily port to other platforms), and then Monster Hunter Rise, Ghost'n'Goblins, and RE Switch were greenlit for it.
