Diablo II

So what do you do after finishing the campaign? Just replay it ad nauseam? Why do people think this is superior to Diablo III again? Other than the music of course.

what the hell does d3 have except ragdoll physics and couch co-op

When did single player turn into "the campaign" and why is the game running for office?

Play on higher difficulties. Normal is very easy, nightmare is the real diablo experience.
>inb4 hell
Hell is only for masochists or autists who dont mind grinding a lot for special gear.

Other option is to play another character. Sure some are similiar like all meele characters but even they have subtypes which dont play the same. If you havent played sorceres which is blinking all around map and melting enemies away or necromancer who can go AFK and when he returns his minions finished whole area you havent experienced it all.

>he sucks at the real difficulty
pottery

grind to level 99 in baal runs and show off how powerful you are by obliterating everything singlehndedly

its flaw was that there was a level cap and you then hard to start over. Instead of their stupid ladder system (which was only put in after the fact to deal with dupers ruining the economy) they should have just made infinitely scaling difficulties and no level cap at all. Then you could just keep grinding forever.

Name build capable of soloing hell without uniques or higher runes :3

It's a pvp game first and foremost, if anyone told you it was anything but that, they lied to you

Issue is, the pvp community has long since left the game, there are some playing the mods tho

skellymancer

The sanctity of this place has been fouled.

Diablo 1 was the best one

trap assassin

Heh, last time i played skelemancer was on patch where runes didnt exist and i remember how i ran out of corpses trying to kill diablo on normal.

Did they buff the minions or is there massive scaling for them on nightmare/hell?

Tedious but fair enough.

all who oppose me, beware

I don't like trap assassin either but it's usually what the speedrunners use

>pvp
>whoever pindybots the longest wins

all you gotta do is have
1. holy freeze mercenary (slows bosses)
2. level 1 clay golem (attack slows bosses)
3. at least 1 frost mage skeleton (slows bosses)

This makes any boss too slow to do much. Then just amp damage and kick back

In the early 2000s there was nothing quite like it. It ran on basically every computer and it was edgy. You grinded for better loot so you could show off online how badass your char was, and since you were basically forced to login at least several times per year or you would lose your stuff, you were basically bound to this game..

Don't come with shit like Sacred, nobody gave a fuck about that ugly joke of a game.

Blizzard sorc, just need to be careful. It's a shame so many retards fall for the meteorb / CLorb newbie trap because some idiot told them it'll help against immunes in hell, even though you're playing a fucking sorc and you literally teleport past everything that isn't an act boss in hell anyway, where blizzard is far safer and faster to kill them.

you can do this totaly naked as well, skellymancer is able to do anything, its just kind of slow at it.

D2 was a pvp grief game where you held grudges for weeks and hostile on sight to ruin that one sorc who stole your barb gear during a baal run and then tried to sell it to you

oh, and put a slows on hit weapon on your merc.
Now that i think about it a might merc is superior in this setup.

I played summonmancer. Basically floated through the game while my skellies carried me. Finished LoD at lvl 33. Only two spells I ever used were 'raise skeleton' and 'amplify damage'.

That's one of the unique but most boring builds in D2, no other game really captures that feeling of having a giant horde, but usually for a good reason because they are shit

Yeah, I kind of felt like I was missing out. But at that point I just wanted to finish the game because I realized I didn't want to play another pointless gear-grinding game.

Now go play blinking sorceres, furry druid or javazon. It will be like different game.

I'd rather go back to Diablo III desu. At least that game had decent graphics and effects.

Berserker
Trap Assassin
Literally any Sorceress build with 1 point in Teleport
Wind Druid
Skeleton/Revive Necromancer
Bowazon

High runewords are memes, for the most part. The best thing about Diablo II is that just about any item can be good as long as it has the stuff you want on it. If you know a lot about cubing, any random white item can become something useful. That is the real differentiator between II and III - gear is just fundamentally different. In III its all about getting your numbers to be slightly higher each time. In II it is about hitting certain breakpoints and balance between offence / defence / MF.

If you are going to use Meteor, its better to use Frozen Orb instead of CL. Requires way less points to do good damage.

D3 just isn't rewarding to play, it's a neverending grind to no where, and you can't grief pvp

>no other game really captures that feeling of having a giant horde
PoE summoner builds capture that feel really nicely
Especially if you're not a golem fag and instead go zombie/skellies

diablo 3 is better than d2. you thought you did but you didnt

You should never be using anything besides blizzard.

Frozen Orb is the better boss killer. If you are going to farm zones to MF, then yeah Blizzard is great. If you are going to Meph / Pindle / Diablo / etc for MF Frozen Orb is so much better.

>D3 just isn't rewarding to play
If I'm going to play a game where the only thing to do is run around the same boring maps killing the same boring enemies I'd at least like it to look good while I'm doing it
>it's a neverending grind to no where
How is Diablo II different?
